According to my Steam store, yes, Double Fine is indie. Indie only means independent, not ONE GUY MADE THIS. You're right, Popcap is not indie but the point still stands: there are PLENTY of alternatives out there and yet you don't play those instead of games you abhor.

Gamecube controller is great for Nintendo games and a few others (those octagonal notches helped in monkey ball).  It's not well suited for all game types like a 360 controller or dual shock.

I loved the GC controller. I actually like the button layout more than the standard diamond layout. Most games have you pushing one button most of the time, so the GC layout made sense. The issue was the right stick and a tiny dpad, but I made the dpad work.

dreamcast controller is bad.  considering it released years after the dual shock, going one stick was stupid too.  that one plastic dotted convex stick that always twisted and the cheap shit triggers that squeaked and the unusual ergonomics.  d-pad is crap.  four buttons instead of six downgrade.

the saturn 3d controller that came before it is better for something so similar.
