I want Gundam Musou 4, and I'd like it not to suck - Shin Gundam Musou was pretty bad.

I don't mind if they start from scratch and make less units next time as long as they get visual facelifts.

I thought Shin was pretty good.

But I didn't play 2 and 3.

2 was bad. 3 was great but the stages were too small - Shin's stages are too large and empty, so they made the opposite mistake. It also just feels like a cash-in.

I like that they're going silly and fun. That's a nice change for musou. I just wish they owned more interesting IPs because their character pull is limited at best. They should do a Capcom x SNK or Capcom x Namco type musou crossover with another company so they get access to their characters.

They could really go nuts if they wanted to. You've got characters from IPs like Mighty Bomb Jack, Monster Rancher, Rygar, Fatal Frame, Angel Eyes, Solomon's Key, and hell...even Gallop Racer on the Tecmo side for added wackiness, and then Koei has the likes of Gitaroo-Man, Winback, Crimson Sea, Mystic Heroes, Yanya Caballista, and more. I wonder if they'll throw any of them in and or it will be more furries instead.

The Musou Fever mechanic is also nice and nuts.

I don't know if there's any movies of it yet, but it appears to turn the game into a "rave" and all the enemies' weapons glow red while yours glows blue. Your other teammates then pop-up on the screen and cheer you on and provide commentary, then break the fourth wall and reach into the game screen to attack with you.

Fate/Extella is out in 'Murica tomorrow!

Looking forward to starting over in English and playing it again. Really enjoyed my time with the import way more than I thought I would.

Even with the Switch coming out on 3/3, I find myself the most-hyped for Musou Stars, which comes out on 3/2. I kind of forgot about that when I pre-ordered the Switch and now I wonder if I should have held off, because Zelda is gonna take a backseat to the musou madness.

Cool. This just keeps reminding me that Koei Tecmo has really uninteresting IPs, but I appreciate the diversity of characters. If this was any other publisher's all-star cast musou I'd be day 1, but I might buy it when it's like $20 on a steam sale at some point and play for a few hours.

What is surprising about this is that they are not localizing the Vita port. It's not like they've dropped the Vita, either, since other multi-plat titles like Toukiden 2 and Berserk are getting Vita releases. They seem to have swapped Vita with PC for this game.

No idea how this title is apart from it not having sold so well. I didn't import it and I'm not sure how much I'm gonna care about it since Musou Stars is out at the end of March. But maybe the 'open-world' stuff will make this game stand out a bit.

I never played it again after trying a few levels when it came out last year. I'd pass on it, but I'm also not into Berserk.

It's not bad. I'm not a big Berserk fan and I suspect if I were, I'd probably be bigger on it. There's really not much to say here...it's a musou game. Not crap like Arslan, but also not really awesome either. It's a solid DW-style game with similar maps and objectives, and some fully-voiced anime cut scenes inbetween levels. Not sure if these are from the recent anime or not.

Would say to get it if you like Berserk and musou, but don't expect to be blown away by it. IMO the best licensed musou games are easily One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 and 3 and the first Fist Of The North Star game, followed by the Gundam games. I'd probably slot this game in after those.

You want to wait for Musou Stars to drop to twenty bucks but would buy this at full price?

This game is One Piece Pirate Warriors 1 and Arslan-level musou. Don't get it unless it's on the cheap. It's insanely average.

Musou stars looks alright mechanically, but the playable roster puts me to sleep. with Lu Bu and Yuanji being the only two people I give a shit about. Couldn't even get characters from the actually popular Gust games rather than the Nights of Azure chick, Sophie and her teacher.

Would rather go back and play Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, which I passed on when it came out.

That's pretty varied, if a bit waifu-heavy. I like that they are going for more out-there characters and movesets. There's already plenty of games with the same old characters in them.

They're clearly going for over-the-top crazy...and I like that. A lot. I haven't been this excited to try a new musou since, well...Warriors Orochi 3.

It's not like I passed on it willingly.

I'd already played the vanilla version of PS3, and I think it was competing with another Musou I was interested in getting at the time, so I opted for the one I hadn't played over the one I'd already technically had.

I've never played Toukiden or DoA, so half the cast already doesn't really sell me on it, neither does Opoona, the Otomo game series or the furry OCs. It kinda comes across as a bit of a heavy handed attempt to sell their current games (with some choice fan picks) than anything, as evidenced by William just barely sneaking in hot on the heels of Nioh's release and Marie Rose/Honoka getting in over literally any other DoA vet. Not that that's a bad thing, it just doesn't make me chomp at the bit for the game.

Yeah, he's just sort of randomly in there with everyone else. I think his and Mitsunari's spots should have gone to other characters.

Musou Stars is out this week.

Feels like it has been forever since I got a (good) Koei musou game, what with Arslan being shit, Attack On Titan getting a pass, and then Berserk being mediocre and forgettable.

So hoping that that this is a return to form.

Eh, I've only been disappointed with two of the recent licensed games I played from them. For all I know, Attack On Titan is awesome, but that's just not something I'm interested in.

And they certainly struck gold with Dragon Quest Heroes II. I just keep putting that game off as I wait to start it over on the right platform.
