After listening to the mouthbreathers that call into their voicemail talk show, I've come to the realization that their fanbase are basically the gaming equivalent of Juggalos...

(Should have realized this 20 years ago when Jeff went onto Good Morning America in full FUBU uniform.)

I think 8-4 Play is the only genuinely good gaming podcast left.

What’s been said is, before Ryan passed, Jeff was planning on getting out. Things happened one after another. Maybe he felt obligated to keep GB afloat.

He’s been doing this since at least the Dreamcast. Watched a video of him going through his garage, digging out old promotional items for psi op mindgate conspiracy and that area 51 fps. Joking in a “ow my life” way but some honesty there.

That Patreon number will obviously dome down a bit, but it still shows how dedicated the GB fanbase is. Pretty telling that Jeff had over 15k viewers on twitch while GB content barely cracked 1000 views on youtube. That shows the quality of their output.

I listened to his first podcast and I don't really get it. It's just like him solo reading the news off of Resetera. Without anyone to play off it seems pretty boring.

That being said, solo Jeff can be great, watching him play shitty old C64 games or do Garage Talk is A+++
