lol I'm ONLY doing side stuff. Got 34 hitman missions done and 29 chop shop missions done too. 23/41 challenges complete and I'm now rank 41 w/ shitloads of upgrades. Storywise STAG has only just turned up. I think the campaign is gonna be stupid easy now

It's Steamworks, doesn't matter where you buy the PC version from it all goes through Steam.

I wound up getting mine off of Amazon.com. You just buy it, don't download it, then go to your "Purchased software list" in the receipt they send you. The Steam code is right there, copy paste and you are golden.

It's weird, stuff is fifty bucks on Steam but it's always forty or less for the steam code on amazon. That's how I got Dead Island too.

Level 50 means your a god. Nothing can fucking touch you. So if you need some muscle in your game with unlimited ammo give me a ring. Getting close to 100% and i'm at 35 hours or so.

btw 100% is only in regards to owning 100% of property. Stuff like assassinations/chop shop/challenges have nothing to do with 100%. You attain 100% by owning property through story missions, strongholds, gang operations, owning stores, and doing activities.

completed all assassination missions.

but in order to 1000 the game you must do all of the challenges, assassinations, and repo missions.

The game gets a bit buggy after some later missions. Like no ho's or no gang members roaming around. But I found a fix. Just go play coop with someone who's rather early on in the game, then save your game. This should bring back the ho's and some of the gangs.

I'm having so much more fun with the activities in this game now that I'm a bit overpowered. Painfully forcing my way through some of the activities like "Protect the Dealer" and "Rescue" on Hard with Level 1 weaponry and no Health or Damage upgrades was clearly not their intention.

I still kinda hate Insurance Fraud, but getting through them isn't too bad now that I know about the dive trick.

my only mission design gripe is the later chop shop missions are literally IMPOSSIBLE without using Police Forgiveness. And you can't hop out of the vehicle and enter a shop you own, then re-enter the vehicle, as the wanted level comes right back.

Try driving a garbage truck halfway across the map with tanks and jets on your ass. Yeah.

I was stuck on a chop shop activity so I stashed the vehicle in my garage, went in to get rid of notoriety, went back to garage, took it out, and had zero cops after me.

Haha, I know, but usually it doesn't work like that in this game. In chop shop activities you instantly get level 3 notoriety by stealing the target vehicle and there's no way to stop the cops, even if you use the aforementioned phone ability that gets rid of wanted level. I didn't think saving the vehicle in my garage would do the trick but...it did.

You can also go into any shop you own to reduce notoriety. May be best leaving the chop shop missions till I own everything.

Seems even with the lower notoriety upgrades they still tail you forever.

alright got 100% takeover in everything, bought pretty much every upgrade, done all chop shop and hitman missions, and beat the campaign. Game time at 27 hours. Currently at 880/1000G

DEFINITELY a smaller game than SR2, but theres much more fun packed into it. Amazing game. It did get a bit silly at the end when my guy was invincible with an infinite rocket launcher thanks to all the fuckin upgrades, but blowing shit up never gets old.

I'm gonna take a break from this for a couple of days as I've more or less been glued to the Xbox for 3 straight days, then I'll mop up the collectibles and challenges for my 1000.

So yeah, gripes:

- city is not very memorable and you often have no clue where you are
- upgrades get ludicrous
- soundtrack mostly blows dick, especially the 'main' songs for the game. Kanye West and Sublime are fucking awful. A couple of good retro tracks though, and the classical station is always good.

Best of the good shit:

- most balanced economy I've seen in an OWG. Things progress at a perfect pace and you'll always have things to spend your cash on
- most varied, clever and exciting missions ever in an OWG
- terrific VA, I played as the british guy and he was awesome.
- Kinzie has a real hot voice

Disagree. SR2 has better story and villains. Each gang arc is great and long, and has weight. SR3's gangs go out way too fast, and no one really feels like a threat. It feels like their blew they load too early, especially in the case of Loren. Especially compared to SR2. Shaundi has been reduced from weed smoking stoner who has EVERYONE as an ex who steals Pierce's ideas to...an angry bitch with zero personality. Oleg and Kinzie are the only good new Saints. Get "choice" out of my sandbox games and leave that vapid shit to rpgs. Sandbox games are about getting my cake and rubbing it all over my hairy chest, not depriving me of content.

That said, SR3's campaign is better in that the mission design is killer.

The bad part of SR3's story is that just a few tweaks here and there, and maybe a few more missions and cutscenes and it'd be perfect. I think that Daniel Dae Kim not having enough time for the story really made them have to go back and rearrange the script.

What they did to Shaundi is the worst thing though. I fucking hate Shaundi in SR3. What happened?

the story was much more bare bones, yes. But the missions were so fucking awesome. The gang arcs in SR2 were good, but a lot of the missions were pretty samey. SR3 was exciting as hell the whole time. It's more like a block buster movie.

So yeah my rationale being awesome missions = better campaign. That beats out not having as deep a story IMO.

Shandi was shit in SR2 and she's shit in this too. All the newcomers are great though, this game has an awesome cast

Shaundi was shit in 2? SMH. It's impossible to like Pierce in 2 without liking Shaundi because of their whole dynamic.

Mission design in 3 is definitely better, though.

I could do without Zimos, honestly and I thought it was curious how laid back the Boss was after hearing about Johnny. Carlos gets killed in 2, and you decide to have Maero run over his girlfriend out of revenge and Carlos ain't no Johnny Gat, he was there with you from the start. But when he gets "killed", it's like, okay let's go get this new pad. It's like no one cares.
