The grey version looks nicer than in the promo shots.  How big is the screen, again? people are comparing it to the Vita's 5 inch.  I thought it's 4.3 like the PSP.

And I'd imagine the XL will make Kid Icarus control worse, given how its aiming method works.

I guess if you want to be able to transfer all your 3DS data/downloads to a new system, you have to use the transfer feature and can't just back everything up on an SD card, right?  No way to trade in the regular 3DS towards the new one without losing everything, then.

I don't see how they're fracturing the market with the Circle Pad Pro available for the 3DS- the XL should have had the second pad-- end of story.

And no way this is the only 3DS revision that is released.  Something else is sure to follow.

I dunno if they have them in America, but in Japan you can buy carrying cases designed to hold the 3DS with the CPP attached.  First time I saw one I thought it was a ukelele case.

You'll probably need a Nintendo branded brief case for 3DS XL + CPP.

aiming for small victories here, buuuut at least this means the circle pad pro/dual analog dream might not be completely abandoned.

before people were all "the only games to support it were the ones announced with it! nothing else ever will! GFY!" and I'm OK with it continuing as an alternate scheme.  With the first dual shock, most PS1 games could still be played with the regular controller, save for one or two like ore no ryouri and ape escape.  That was only, what, 14 years ago? these things take time.

Iwata responded that users would be confused if there were too many choices. There's also the concern about mass production efficiency. So, there are no plans in the near future for new models. The 3DS XL was the result of there being great need for a large screen.

I dont know why they bother.  Having to play with 2 of those analog nubs... no thanks.  The buttons on the 3ds are like the only redeeming factor fo the 3ds.  People asking for another nub dont have a 3ds in the first place nor tried the analog nub.
