Cowboy Bebop has some nostalgia for me being that it was one of the first anime on Adult Swim, and while I can sit through most episodes, I don't really like it. It's kinda hard for me to explain why, but I do feel it's kinda overrated (especially the soundtrack).

Love the soundtrack for bebop. About the only anime music I can listen to in a normal just want to hear in any mood context. But then I love jazz. But even the pop stuff is great imo.

Mysteries, suspense/thrillers or action for me. Probably in that order now. Im really enjoying Psycho Pass, Himu. Even though the theft from Ghost in the Shell is so blatant

It's really blatant, but there hasn't been much GitS lately [except for that new OVA series], so I'll give it a pass there. And if you want a good mystery series, check out Naoki Urasawa's Monster.

It's definitely got some good tunes, no doubt, but overall? Not a big fan. I always see it at the top of best anime OST lists, but I can think of dozens that are better.

Heck, I'd even pick DBZ's original score.

I'm mostly talking about content. I have a hard time thinking Tatsumi is on the same footing as...a Batman comic. To me there's a clear distinction between what's for adults and what's for teenagers. Teenager aimed stories tend to have wish fulfillment and power fantasies. Many comics are aimed at the adults, but the content rarely is up to par. The same is true for a lot of anime.

As for your tastes, I prefer your manga suggestions.

The big ones to watch now are Kill La Kill, Attack on Titan. If you like slice of life anime, Silver Spoon is a good place to start. I don't know what you like, so it's hard to suggest where to start, but it's a pretty good anime watching resource if you know where to look.

I may be the spegest person on here, but even I don't get this "i don't like to drink out" thing that seems to be going all around GAF's users.

I don't drink beer, but every time I've gone out it's been a fun time. I mean you have to be in the right attitude, it seems these people go out with the attitude that "this is going to suck" or that drinking is some amoral thing that they have to be above. I went out with my friend to this bacon beer place on the north side of chicago. Real hipster place, but pretty quiet and nice. He was bringing two friends from school with him and usually that would make me a bit nervous. But I just went with it and let myself go and had a pretty good time. Were the drinks expensive? Sure, but who cares?

I feel like a lot of those users want to seem like some higher forum of people because drinking is beneath them. Even the op there wants to turn it in that when he talked about his gf and how he thinks they just go to bars because thats what people do. You're not special or smart because you unlocked the code that is human behavior dude.
