Filipinos the ones who elected a blood thirsty dictator and love him?  I'm siding with the Koreans.

Nothing will come from this I bet but its nice to see it in the agenda.  I thought UBI talk was kind of dying out the last few months compared to before CERB.

Greece has issued an order for 18 Dassault Rafale fighter planes, 12 that will be secondhand from the French air force (to be replaced by newer models for France's inventory) to be supplied ASAP, and 6 brand new speculated to be the most recent mark with better long range missile capabilities.

Greece already has some Mirage 2000 so there's history there, but I would imagine buying French systems which are mostly proprietary AFAIK, and thus more opaque to the US / NATO / Turkey certainly was a consideration.

Those close to the Prime Minister have reportedly described him as having "misery etched on his face" as he attempts to steer the UK through a pandemic and Brexit negotiations.

And his friends allege that he now has money worries to add to his existing pressures, after he gave up his newspaper column with the Daily Telegraph, thought to be worth £275,000, plus lucrative fees for speaking arrangements for his PM's salary of £150,000.

Why isn't there a Nobel War Prize?

It's much harder to fight and win a war successfully than to sign some dumb paper and yell peace :idont

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/confidence-vote-covid-bill-1.5744222

Quote
Liberals survive confidence vote as COVID-19 aid bill passes unanimously

The bill replaces the now-defunct $500-per-week Canada emergency response benefit, which came to an end last weekend after helping almost nine million Canadians weather the impact of the pandemic.

In its place, workers impacted by the pandemic will have access to a more flexible and generous employment insurance regime and, for those who still don't qualify for EI, a new Canada recovery benefit. The bill also creates a new sick leave benefit and another new caregiver benefit for those forced to take time off work to care for a dependent because of the pandemic.

At the behest of the NDP, the government has increased the proposed new benefits to $500 per week from the originally proposed $400, ensuring no one receives less than they were getting under the CERB.

It has also expanded the eligibility criteria for the sick leave benefit so that it applies not just to individuals who contract COVID-19 but also to those with underlying health conditions or other illnesses, including the flu or the common cold, that makes them more susceptible to COVID-19.

In the end, Conservative MPs, who had protested loudly against fast-tracking of the bill and used procedural tactics to hold it up, voted for it. So did Bloc Québécois MPs, who had also opposed fast-tracking.

The world would be in a better place if Azerbaijan and Armenia would just do a rap battle or singing contest to settle their border dispute.  :fbm

It's a very vintage reason for war tho
