I'm not entirely sure if the combined might of Pokemon, Genshin, Zelda etc. can beat the shooters but overall the fact that this is debatable shows how different things are these days. Especially considering how many American companies are backed or bought by Tencent or Embracer. I googled a bit and it seems like EDM is currently in third place but it also depends on what you count as EDM.

Anyways... thinking back to this a bit more. I think it's less "woke politics has infected American culture" and more that the American empire is in decline - the one-two punch of 9/11 and the housing crisis/recession was the start. Looking back, the 2010s seems to be one of the most culturally and stylistically devoid decade in post-WWII America. I can't really think of any new, distinct genres of music to really pop up from the country aside from Vaporwave and mumble/soundcloud rap. Hollywood seemed content to remake old movies or just go all-in on Marvel and Star Wars. Even in terms of games, I personally think Europe has been wiping the floor with America (though keep in mind, western games in general aren't my bag).

when it comes to music I feel like at a certain point you've done everything that sounds pleasant and it's just a matter of mixing known tempos, rhythms, harmonies and styles/instruments

dubstep was the attempt at "can we get away with actual modem sounds and robot farts" and that's as far as we can go into discord while remaining popular/listenable

kind of like food, how there are practically no new worthwhile recipes left to invent

The real creativity seems to be outside of the music industry itself. Like the Hans Zimmer crew and Yasunori Mitsuda creating their own make-shift instruments and sounds.
Especially Hans Zimmer has collected the most talented musicians out there.

Let the Chinese have it. They will soon find it's harder to exploit these places than it looks and the locals will discover that maybe there is a worse thing than being colonised by evil white guys.

The most interesting part is that both the Sudanese army and Rapid Support Forces hit the pause button on their conflict to help the French evacuate.

The European Commission confirmed it would not require the U.K. to pay backdated participation fees for the two years it had missed of the current seven-year Horizon Europe funding initiative.

But the U.K. government wants a bigger discount. London argues the two-year hiatus has left British-based researchers and businesses in a weakened position compared with their peers across Europe.

Finland has the best bunkers. 6 months of provisions guaranteed too. He left the country too soon.

But really, Russia is all bark, no bite.

There's plenty of examples of the FSB/GRU killing Russian nationals abroad with poisoning and broken windows.
The plots are often almost laughable but still dangerous. Like that time they poisoned a small town in the UK.

Prigozhins statement has nothing new but the presentation is quite shocking. Standing near a pile of corpses calling out Shoigu and Gerasimov.
I wonder if they'll let him leave Bakhmut or block his retreat. It seems that it's starting to dawn on Yevgeny that he's just the 'fall guy' for a bunch of war crimes and a botched operation to take the city.
The so called 'General Armageddon' that was recently fired from running the special military operation has joined Wagner as deputy commander though, so either he's there to control Wagner on behalf of the military or also in open revolt against the Russian MOD.

Mordaunt has repeatedly advocated that the British National Health Service should fund the availability of homeopathy.[93][94] In 2010, she signed a Parliamentary Early Day Motion that claimed there was "overwhelming anecdotal evidence that homeopathy is effective" and called for the government to "maintain a policy of allowing health commissions to refer to homeopathic doctors and approved homeopaths".[93][95]
:nope

When receiving the Speech of the Year award at The Spectator magazine's Parliamentarian of the Year Awards in November 2014, Mordaunt said that she had delivered a speech in the House of Commons just before the Easter recess in 2013 on poultry welfare so as to use the word "cock", as a forfeit for a misdemeanour during Naval Reserve training.[37][38] She used the word "cock" six times and "lay" or "laid" five times. Following her comments, she was accused by Labour MP Kate Hoey of trivialising parliament.[39]

Budget cut day.

Tanks missing? I can understand. A large chunk of them are in Ukraine, either in use or destroyed.

But the planes too? They've been largely MIA in this war, much like the navy.
