:foxx the series has had loads of directors that are much much worse and never came close to putting out a great game. igas career was uneven but he put out more quality games than anyone else who touched the series.

plus he fixed the timeline

Ehh, Hagihara gets main props for SOTN and I was never too big on the IGAvania follow ups, which are varying degrees of middling (excluding OoE, which is relatively good and nice). IGA going solo to do a castlevania-like is pretty much like Inafune's Mighty No9, which is bad and not nice.

Nope. I need to play CV2 as well. Probably gonna do the "fan-fixed" version of that one.

It's not like an Igavania can't have both in it. Didn't Dawn of Sorrow or... OoE have a whip in addition to swords to use?

I'd figure cv2 has aged like hot shit in the sun. meanwhile cv3 plays like the first one, but with multiple characters, branching levels, and even better music. you can even pay the Japanese version now with the super awesome sound quality!

Watched a little, before they started playing.  I don't know why, but the translator guy sipping a glass of wine cracked me up.  Iga says some stuff I didn't know about, like how SOTN's composer had her sister sing the music on the file select screen.

Steam sale it is.
