Got a recurring prescription to Xanax to help with stress. I’m not supposed to drink anymore but I’m going to anyway. I have to go off my other psychiatric meds because of side effects but my psychiatrist isn’t sure yet what else to put me on yet right now and I have to talk with him again next week. Just woke up from a Xanax-induced nap and going to try to do another one.

Flying back to the fatherland this weekend to say goodbye to grandma.

She survived auschwitz and walking back from germany to warsaw on foot after the war, but no one can escape time (or a brain and lung tumor).

She is like a mom to me and Ive spent tons of time with her. Watched the 94 world cup final together. When I was over there in March for my other grandmas funeral she was still so strong and we walked around to visit grandpas grave.

Hope holds on till I can kiss her one last time and tell her how much I love her, maybe put a new picture of my daugther besides her bed.

So sad :/

Thats the last of my grandparents, all gone in 2017-2018.

Some may recall that my dad had brain surgery awhile back. This morning I was at my parents house to drop off my stepson for a visit and my dad was in tears and acting weird on his way out the door. My mom informed me that my dad is concerned he’s now leaking cerebral fluid again some months later. This would probably lead to him getting a spinal stint drain and being hospitalized again, he has an appointment at 11:30 today to get checked out. Meanwhile he’s being morbid as fuck texting me about if I’m okay with my brother being the executor of his will and that kind of thing. So I’m stressed the fuck out.

Great news!

Bad news, is you missed out on a chance for some fun. I think I told this story before where my best friend's sister was getting brain surgery (she has that condition where the fluid pressure isn't sufficient in the brain) and it was her first. So I rented a Napoleon costume and told her family to call me when she woke up. They did, I packed up the costume in my backpack and went to the hospital. When I got there I told the fam to go get some dinner or rest and I'd stay with her, so they left. I went to the bathroom and dressed up in the Napoleon costume and started talking to her. She asked "What's with the costume?" I was like "What costume?" Eventually I went back to the bathroom and changed back before her family came back and after they did I said my byes and left.

Apparently she kept on asking "Why was Puppy in a costume?!" And her family having only seen me in regular clothes were like "WTF are you talking about?" If I didn't have such a reputation for being a jokester they might've freaked out. Next time CatCubed. Next time.

It's kinda crept up on me but I realized today that it's been a pretty shitty couple of weeks for me.

- Lost job
- Told I can't renew the lease at my current amazing place for 2019 cause it's so nice the owner wants to live here now apparently
- The really cute guy I've been seeing off and on since August and was planning on officially dating soon broke it off since someone else they were hooking up with betrayed them or something
- A recent important phone interview went extremely poorly

Still have my health, friends, and family, and I've been hanging out a ton with my younger sister which has been fun, so I hadn't really noticed. But I did have a moment in July that was basically "My life really *is* too good. It's not gonna last."

Actually I think I made a post like that here.

Really glad I got my drinking mildly under control before all this happened. Things may have ended up even more dire.

So yeah not a great month or so, but you know what they say.

Been sick for almost a month, pretty much all common symptoms to tons of diagnoses, lol. But today I realized it might be an allergy? I’ve never been allergic to anything before. I have a cat but I grew up with them and never once reacted. Plus I’ve had her since June, didn’t react then. Is it possible to randomly develop an allergy to cats? Lately my eyes have been super red and dry, especially in the morning.

Is there such a thing as fall hay fever?

The thing is, this apartment doesn’t have any air conditioning, the only heat comes from my fireplace. I also change my sheets once a week and vacuum pretty frequently (I’m a neat freak). So I really don’t understand what it could be. My doctor insisted it was just a common cold, but I’ve never had any for longer than a week.

I’ll get a second opinion though and ask for an allergy test if it doesn’t go away within 2 weeks.

Landlord said they liked me and wouldn't mind me moving into the unit directly below. But I'm not sure I want to do that yet.

I grew up around dogs but spent some years with very little contact with them. When my sister got a dog a few years ago and I sometimes dogsat for several days I'd get allergy like symptoms; stuffy nose, sore throat and itchy, dry red eyes. I went to see an eye doctor and asked if it could be because of the dog and he said that it was likely. I guess not being much around dogs for a few years made me sensitive to their hair and dandruff and whatever. After a while I guess I got used to them again and now get no symptoms from dogs.

So yeah I guess it could be your cat but at least it might just be temporary. But did you start a new school a while back? It could also be that there's mold or something there. I had classes once a week in a building with mold issues and some of my class mates reacted pretty badly to it, I just got a sore throat every time.

I don't know about allergies to cats, but this year is the first time I've ever had an allergy to weather or pollen or whatever. When fall came around this year my eyes got insanely dry and my nose would not stop running.

I also once had an allergic reaction to some food from a restaurant I went to regularly. Out of nowhere my entire face swelled up and I developed a rash after eating there. Never happened before and never since but i'll never forget the itchiest night of my life.

Semi-truck plowed into me this morning on the way to work. He said he didn't see me and he just moved over right into me, damaging the left side of my car. I then went into a tailspin and was doing 360s down the highway. Seriously thought that might be the end but was able to stop the car. My left arm is bothering me a little but apart from that I am amazingly unscathed from this. Got the police and insurance stuff done and have a rental now. Currently waiting to schedule a doctor's appointment to get checked out just in case.

Sorry, but that really grates on a nerve for me. As an employer I go out of my way to hire people that can change and grow to be what I need. I won't fire you for struggling to come up to speed on something new, but I will fire your ass for pigeon holing yourself and being inflexible. I take the employer's responsibility on team building very seriously. You hire people to grow them, not to be like "oh this is new to you, you're out." If you do that, you've failed as an employer and you should have shame.

The real reason is that he's not on board with the bullshit workload/managerial attitude.

I do wonder if it's better to resign and not have to tell prospective employers that you were fired or if you should hold out for unemployment benefits.
