The good thing with those vidyagames controversy is that you know it's gonna have an happy ending :

- NMS probably made some healthy 60$ sales for an indie game which would result in decent bank.
- If it didn't bomb, the game might get decent support and some of the stuff missed by certain players could be patched in.
- GAF, reddit and similar sites are making big traffic with those huge controversy threads.
- Most of the people scandalized will have fogotten their outrage for the next hyped Sony, Hello Games or whatever title.

If Sean Murray use some of that money to hire a PR guy to avoid a severe case of Molyneux next time, he should be fine.

My thoughts haven't really changed on the game. The GAF mob for this game being what it was it was futile trying to have a nuanced discussion about this game. This is a game that could be a really, really cool sequel...but people needed to draw in their expectations heavily on this.

This one just wasn't in a position to be that.  People were expecting a 5 team company to deliver a GOTY, borderline GOTG type product and that was just ridiculous. It was never pretty enough, deep enough or diverse enough to be a cool walking simulator and the gameplay has always been a huge red flag.

If it seems like they are addressing issues well and make it seem like they will build on this properly, I will probably buy it still. Just not at $60.

Ambitious games fail to deliver all the time. No Man's Sky is just another in a long line of them. This one just happened to have that hype because Sony got out in front of it so hard which is why the defense force for this one is so strong. It happens.

I'm curious if a modding scene will be able to develop around the PC version and maybe turn it into a more interesting experience.

Mad Max would've been fine if they made him (Max) a girl. There's nothing wrong with GRRL POWER in general, but most reboots do it badly which is where I think a lot of the (misguided from misogynist men) hate comes from.
