Now I know how they fucked it up on Switch- SNK didn't port it...Abstraction Games did.

Also people are reporting that the Tekken season 2 patch (not DLC) also unlocked all the costume pieces so if there were some you wanted but didn't play enough to unlock, check again and they might be available for use.

It didn't unlock some of the new stuff for me- like Anna's new outfit pieces came up as locked and have to be gotten from Treasure Battle still.

Got SNK Heroines on PS4. Can now confirm it's 60 FPS on PS4- absolutely shits all over the Switch version. The difference feels like night and day here. Plays so much smoother, looks much cleaner, and even loads faster. Do not get this on Switch.

Samurai Shodown is back! Looking pretty good- much better visuals than KOF XIV.

The trailer shows Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Jubei, Earthquake, and Galford- maybe this is a remake of the original game?

It has been a LONG time since we got a new *real* Samurai Shodown. Sen came out in 2008 and a big ol' pile of shit that played like a bad Soul Calibur clone. Before that was SS6, which first hit arcades back in 2005. So by the time this game hits, it's gonna have been almost 14 years since the last 2D entry.

I just wanna say that I love Samurai Showdown. Probably my favorite SNK franchise. Played so much of 1 & 2 in the arcades as a kid. My friend got a 3d0 and we'd play the port of 1 at his place all the time. Doing that three slash strike with purple hair dude where it cuts the boards or doing the flying swallow stuff with blue-haired guy was badass af.

Would be nice if they can get a SF-style comeback with the new one.

They had a tournament for SNK Heroines over the weekend...the last match is actually pretty hype!

The game is a bomb, though. It's too bad, because there's an interesting, unique fighting game engine here. Maybe it will gain some more popularity in Japan when it hits arcades.

That's not everyone yet. They've talked about unrevealed new characters too and we know that Nyotengu is some bullshit pre-order unlock DLC.

But am absolutely sure that they are going to milk the hell out of some character DLC and make us pay to get back older characters who don't initially make it in. $:-\$

So SC6 has new game play mechanics and some changed up moves and all that...

...But the first thing that hits me when I play the beta is how much it looks like a 1080P (uprezzed at that) version of Soul Calibur V with the Soul Calibur IV crew added back in. Really looks "last gen" and I guess they didn't get the Tekken budget here.

Still loads of fun and the online matches have run pretty well too.

Maybe his play style is already there for custom characters?

Watched a video of someone messing around with that mode and LOL'd when he brought up the default female template and it looked exactly the same as SC4 and SC5's template...same model, pose, hair, face...everything. No change in 10 years.

The last match I tried was awesome- One round ended with me kicking the other guy's ass, but while this was happening I broke a fence and got a ring-out mid-combo when I did a jump move that sent me right over the side. Couldn't stop laughing. I think the other guy was too because he didn't skip the replay!

Wait, what? You jumped over him into a ring out?

Had him pinned against what I thought was a solid wall (it was a fenced area on a cliff), then after a little bit a fence broke right when I did a move that made Taki flip into the air and she went right over.

Really wish I had tried to get the footage or had a capture card for times like this.

I haven't played a Soul Calbur game heavily since 2 so it was real fun to play the beta today. SC is still the fighting game I do best at, even though I played a lot more Street Fighter and Tekken. It looks fine graphically, even if its not absolute top shelf like the early games in the series were. Something more appealing about this one's visuals than 3-5 were for me personally.

I think I got lucky because it wasn't too hard to find matches once I widened the scope and only one match got really laggy for me.

Am wondering if maybe this is an older, unfinished build or something- the desert stage looks noticeably better than the rest of the levels for example. They are very clearly re-using a lot of assets from SC4 and SCV however.
