Yes, it does have frame drops to below 60, with the bigger dips usually when more cinematic stuff is happening...and it's still an amazing port. If you're wanting the tournament-standard version, you wouldn't be playing this regardless if it happens or not. Most people aren't even going to notice for the most part- the dynamic resolution changes are way more noticeable. IIRC it also runs better docked.

It's worth checking out for $18. Curb your Switch hate boner, breh.

I'm up for some SFV again after like six months of barely touching it. Hopefully one of the three new additions will click and I'll just start over with him/her. We'll see. Hope there's still news on a major update to come.

There's lots of great fighting games out there right now, but I really haven't played as much this year. Just get disappointed with how some games are handled or drop them due to online populations dwindling. Samurai Shodown has easily been the biggest breath of fresh air for me this year- was hoping that would be DOA6, but the DLC practices and asset recycling from DOA5 brought it down. I still want to get back to it, however, particularly after watching this guy's videos. Amazing stuff.

Because the game is exceptionally boring. The systems are meager; whatever is there is not robust enough to produce anything but the same redundant situations over and over again. There's no creativity in SFV - everyone's Ryu/Cammy/X is played the same way. This has been a perennial complaint of the game, so I'd expect them to add a new system. I mean, even SFV added Red Focus at some point, and SF4 wasn't as creatively barebones as SFV..

Spectating competitive tourneys for this game is like watching grass grow. It's dreary. Sure, the top players may appreciate the extreme nuances of footsies and millimeters of spacing, etc..but the game is a fucking bore in terms of entertainment for spectators. That they add so much cosmetic content to a game that is so scrimpy is insulting.

CVS2 and it's groove system? Now that's a got-dayum game. Was an absolute joy to explore and open up.

SF4 didn't add the wild shit like Double Ultra and Red Focus and Edition Select until Ultra, so I expect if there is another version of SFV it'll be the last one and they'll put in a bunch of stuff and let people go HAM.

CVS2 is a funny one to bring up as an exciting title cause that shit was basically dead in the water from being seen as slow and boring until roll cancelling was discovered and kinda changed the way the game was played. That being said it's still a long ass game to play. A grand finals with reset in that could take up to 1.5 hours back in the day. Still my favorite FG of all time though.

I actually really liked base SFV and am ok with the game as far as casual play, especially since the AE rev came out. I think there is a lot of missed opportunity with it though, and they kind of got cheap on it.

Agree it isn't the most hype to watch competitively, which boils down to the design I think...unless they really tweak it I can't see it getting better through balance patches or anything.

All that said debating catching my PC up to PS4 as far as stages/seasons etc go as they are on sale.

I thought it was pretty much proven now that he didn't do anything more than injure her wrist when they were fighting over her locking him out of his own house or something. Last I saw, it came out that his ex was full of shit and was trying to get all the money for the house that he paid for himself- apparently they never even got officially married.
