Bodied myself on Steam purchases. Didn't realize Cass was part of Season Pass 1 so I got the base game + Cass for $26 when I could have gotten the base game + all of S1 for $35. Oh well

There was a period in my life where I could not abide one locked icon in a game and had to have all the things. SFV cured me of that problem and I live a free existence now

Trying to adjust to a stick and learn Soul 6 at the same time was a struggle last night.

Most series I'll play on stick but Soul and MK have always been pad games for me, but I don't have a PS4 pad anymore so I'm gonna try this out.

Cass has changed a bunch since Soul 4 but damn she's fun. Didn't play anyone else so I don't know if this is common but she has a cool Thor-like power up (Divine Force) that kicks in after certain attacks hit or when I get a guard impact and gives me access to new attacks, really neat idea. She also has Soul Charge which seems to do the same thing but the attacks it gives are stronger.

Either way she feels pretty familiar but just different enough, and I'm a bit wack with the stick right now. Might dig around to find and use a PS3 pad, we'll see. I did pop online, took a minute to find a match, but they have the Tekken setup where you can do unlimited rematches in online matches so at least there's the possibility of long sets.

She has a really awesome-looking throw (forget what it's called- like a spinning body throw) that you can only do when powered-up and when the opponent is crouching (possibly done with their back towards you, too)- just seems like something you won't get to see much. :'(

Was messing around with Honda, Poison, and Lucia last night. I like all three and I think I'm going to actually stick with one or all of them. Haven't felt like that with an SFV DLC character in a while.

Got my ass kicked doing Casual matches for the most part, which I expected -haven't played this game almost all year and it felt like I was starting over- but I did laugh at how easily I beat an Alex despite not knowing everything with Lucia. Poor Alex.

Poison seems to be the most popular of the three- fought a couple of her but not the other two. The whip stuff, particularly being able to swing and then combo off it, is pretty fun. I also like the V-Trigger where she gets a grab attack, which you can also do long-range since it uses the whip. Good stuff.

Changed over to a smaller stick (Kappa) last night and got much better results in SC. I dunno what it is, but the button spacing on MadCatz sticks always fucks me up, like they are just barely too far apart.

My Poison PS3/360 padhack stick has a weird non-standard button/stick layout (wide gap between stick and buttons, small gap between buttons) but I guess I'm just used to it. It's just a pain to use on PC but then I remembered I had my Brook PS4 adapter, used that, and I'm good to go.

Yeah I heard it's one of the coolest boxing games on the GBA so I had to pick it up, I also have Wade Hixton's Counter Punch which is basically a 1-1 punchout copy but with a 90's Cartoon Network artstyle.

This Ippo game has some more meat on its bones, I just have a japanese cart right now since I'm waiting on my english bootleg cart but you don't even really need to read japanese except for the move list..

I'm not feeling Soul Calibur 6. Then again, I was never a super fan of the series. Geralt feels... weird. And the gameplay seems slower/herky-jerky (a contradiction, I know) in movement compared to SC5 and 2.
