You realize that you could literally create a "safe space" for virtually anything though with the above criteria right?  Is a book club, chess club, music club or stamp collecting club now considered a "safe space"?  Your definition is actually the opposite of a place that allows for discourse, because as soon as anyone in the group gets offended or feels threatened by the statement of someone else, antogonistic or not, then it's no longer a safe space.
I really don't you're grasping the concept. Speaking from experience, I have aspergers. In college, there was a social group for students on the spectrum; there we could discuss issues and stuff that was bothering us, and we could help and answer questions from our own unique perspectives and experiences

People felt unburdened to open up about issues and concerns without being dismissed or ignored, compared to discussing spectrum-related problems with people who have certain biases and misconceptions about being on the spectrum. That's a safe space

I think this gets the point across pretty well- And by that I mean what Sanctuary posted is on point (in regards to GAF).

So I refunded 25$ to the 4 guys that bought me the Gears of War 4 codes.
One of them was spreading the word that I wasn't answering and was just scamming people when I was making sure I could give them as much as possible.
Yeah, they are 10$ dollars down, but I lost around 60$ because one guy that I bought codes ( thinking they were legit, not like some are saying that I knew that was selling amazon codes and I used the glitch lol, wish I had) simply shitted on me.
If you want to give me negative feedback go ahead. I did the best I could out of this situation. Believe me, i don't like to lose money like I did. thanks
But it's fine. Judge me all you want.

Caaaaaan do.

The only right move here was to refund all of your buyers the full amount. Simple as that.

:yeshrug I don't like pits and I judge people who do.

Fact is it wasn't any breed that viciously assaulted that Montreal woman in her own home, it was a pit. There's tons of stories like that. Do non-pit attack reports have the same volume? I doubt it.

Tons of dogs die in shelters every year anyways, I'm not sure that's a cogent argument. Gotta decrease the dog population somehow, and if it's a dangerous breed that has to go first, who cares?

German Sheppards scare me more than pit bulls. Same with doberman's, rottweillers, and akita's.

My buddy's buddy had a charcoal black pit bull / mastiff that was fully attack trained. Fucking scariest dog I've ever seen, he was literally a weapon.

I got no point, but I do have a soft spot for pit bulls. I wouldn't own one now that I have a kid, but maybe someday when she's grown up.

:yeshrug I don't like pits and I judge people who do.

Judge away:

"We know they (pitbulls) are in Toronto because they end up in shelters," Ms White said.

And results of the decade-old ban are not conclusive. Data provided by the city show dog bites increased by 24% between 2014 and 2015.

Javier Schwersensky, chief executive of the Winnipeg Humane Society, admitted it was difficult to measure the impact of the city's 25-year-old pitbull ban on reducing the dangers caused by aggressive dogs.

"There will never be an agreement about the benefit or not of breed specific legislation. You will never get to the point of 100% conclusive evidence," he said.

"It's really about public sentiment, at the end of the day, how the public feels."

I don't have a fondness for pitties, but I'll rescue any dog that needs saving. Our dog now was in the kill block for guarding food and being aggressive.

She's a sweetheart now. Training/environment make the dog.

You ever get the impression that our age is under the self-delusion that it invented diversity in media?

You can go back to the 90s, 80s, 70s and even 60s and find examples of media co-starring blacks and whites and Asians and both genders.... but today when they put an ethnically diverse cast in something, everyone pats themselves on the back for being so progressive.

The goal is admirable, but we're so cloying in our approach to this topic.

Actually the dog was a Boxer, that was mis-indentified as a Pit, and that was grounds enough for displacing all the Pit Bulls and euthanizing them.

This is also despite the fact that numerous studies have found that Pits aren't prone to aggression or increased risk of death. In fact, many common dog breeds are prone to aggression more than Pits.

But instead Pit Bulls are apparently to blame because they are over-bred and are the current idolized breed by abusive owners who want a "badass dog".

Instead, people are just going to turn to breeding Pits themselves and selling them at a profit without the guaranteed care that is given through the proper channels.

 How great.

it was a boxer? thats dissapointing as all fuck.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that is not what people have in mind when they hear "STALKER-inspired" even in connection with an indie game. (Considering how many there are that copy it more directly. Often staffed by people who spun out of GSC's implosion.) It doesn't even seem to copy the loose-RPG elements.

Also, these are words:
Quote
I don't like Moppin', after the initial interviews he got when he originally announced downwell and didn't even have a game to show, a ton of the sanfran scene reporters jumped all over him to give him a spotlight, and the dude seemed entirely ignorant of the doujin scene despite trying to act like he was breaking into the entire scene.

Everything about how he got his start with downwell just seemed incredibly odd.

I mean if you sub to lesser-popular subs like those (not saying they're necessarily small, just less main-stream) then yes: Reddit can be a decent resource. But go look at defaults like /r/politics or /r/gaming and see how they delete something that they think isn't news and/or flare it as "personal blog/not-news" and you have the same GAF shady-moderation elsewhere.

I pretty much only use reddit at this point for a few game subs and amateur porn.

I used to love 'ricing' my system. I'm an OS X user so there were limitations but as time has gone by the system became less and less flexible and basically I'd rather just hide most elements now.

One of my favourites was making OS X look like Windows 7 as a dig at all those people who love to make their windows machine look like OS X.

 :huh

:donot (We really need a "can't fap to this" emote, bork plz) Why the hell would you make Aqua look like Win 7 (unless it's the Win 9x look that MS dropped in 8 on, and even then: WHY?). OS X's UI is miles ahead of Windows and Linux. I know Gnome tried to copy it, but it isn't the same. Partially due to Apple's UI designers being artists and for the UI first and foremost.</no Apple stannery going on here> It's why everyone that bothers with it tries to copy that look on non-Apple platforms.

Also the person he's replying to is complete right: /g/ is a trash board now.

Lol this us what I read:

"Everyone should be allowed to express their beliefs. Unless, those beliefs are bigoted and full of hate."

Uhhh, no you DONT think everyone should be allowed to express their beliefs. Obviously were not okay with people being ugly. The problem is the razor edge between "hate" and "not approving".

I'm not sure what you're saying.

I am more of a "everyone can express their beliefs and receive the proper reaction/consequences" which means that if you expressed hate, you will be banned/arrested/complained/trown out.
I agree, I am one hundred percent for anybody saying anything they want to because I can't know whether or not they shouldn't have said it without offending me until they do. At which point they should be punished severely because they should have fucking known better.

Some types of people need to learn their place in a modern society.

Especially if that place is "not in society anymore."

A website molded to fit a specific set of extreme viewpoints with zero room for nuance or critical discussion?  What nerve!  Now back to banning people for having the wrong opinions.
