To be honest, the fact that everybody wants everything for free is a real issue. People don't want to pay for music, they don't want to pay for movies, TV, they want journalists to to work for free, they want photographers for free cause their aunt has her own photo company (Suzy's Professional Photography, check her out on Facebook), graphic artists should give away their work for exposure, "hey Bill, since you work in IT, can you come check to see why my 2006 Toshiba Satellite is slow," etc.
This is less entitlement and more that Americans have much less disposable income than 50 years ago.  I mean...

I've been hit with the annoying "hey could you design me a logo/invitation/sign on the cheap"question A LOT but I understand where people are coming from.

That's a copout. People just have the ability to get shit free, so they do. It's simple as that. If we were talking, you know, food or shelter, I'd entertain the idea that it's about how real it is right not. It's not. Nothing entitles us to free entertainment or free services that other people provide. I'm not denigrating the struggle, but the struggle isn't trying to decide whether to keep HBO Go or Amazon Prime. It's just super easy to get that shit for free/cheap, so we do. I'm in the mix.

I get mad when Netflix doesn't have exactly what I want, nevermind the fact I pay 10 bucks a month to watch whatever they have, anytime I want, wherever I want. Amazon Prime is basically kept me from having to buy music for a minute now. But I still get all pissy when Hot Album X isn't up right away and shit.

I pay for all my shit when there's a convenient option to do so, but even then some services are just flat out dogshit. I can't tell you how many times I've just said "fuck it" and DLed the latest Sunday shows because HBO Go simply refuses to work, sometimes for days.

I mean if you sub to lesser-popular subs like those (not saying they're necessarily small, just less main-stream) then yes: Reddit can be a decent resource. But go look at defaults like /r/politics or /r/gaming and see how they delete something that they think isn't news and/or flare it as "personal blog/not-news" and you have the same GAF shady-moderation elsewhere.

I pretty much only use reddit at this point for a few game subs and amateur porn.
Rule 1 of reddit - unsub from all the default subs as soon as possible

My problem is with them using "triggered" as a way to mean "too offended". That's not what triggers or being triggered are. I realize that that's not just h3h3, it's a lot of the internet (pewdiepies doing it now, so good luck having the future generation build empathy with people who have ptsd.) but I cant take anyone seriously when using it in an ironic way. It's always arguing against a strawman. I have not once seen an example of someone genuinely saying they are triggered when it's not valid. But if you listen to the internet, it's all over the place. Yet no video of some supposedly "triggered" feminist I've ever seen involves them discussing triggers or ptsd. It's turning into "oh I'm so ocd" when you just like things tidy, but a lot more harmful because there are plenty of people out there who still think only veterans can have ptsd or other misconceptions.

Before I get "it's just a joke"...where's the punchline? As someone stated in another thread, it's the equivalent of "you flinched" or "u mad!". There is no punchline. It's just repeating something you heard that never even had a punchline in the first place.

This. Make videos pandering to both sides then make a video wondering why anyone gets mad at all.

He says the show is not political and doesn't take a stance, but he covers political matters and does have a stance. Not taking a stance is a stance too and he doesn't even not take a stance. I's a cop out video that will satisfy the edgy detached interned nihilist audience he has who are too good for politics supposedly.

There's a large amount of people who were salty that h3 got called out for pandering to the alt right and were looking at an opportunity to shove those claims back into the faces of those who made them.

Ethan's reaction here about "we got called alt right panderers so we did a BLM video" just goes to show that he knew what he was doing and that video was trying to do damage control but now that he attracted the alt right audience he's upset that they're mad and is using this to be all "we don't do politics we're why internet people" whereas he put himself in this position.

lol, "upset."

I am simply not interested in this Fox News-esque false equivalence nonsense Ethan is trying to pull in order to have his cake and eat it to. It's disingenuous, and more than that, it's insultingly transparent what he's doing.

H3H3 want to bolster their viewership by pandering to the alt-right crowd with their Harambe memes and "anti SJW" rhetoric, and that's their prerogative, but if they want to present supporting social movements concerned with social justice like BLM as the equivalent on the other side of the argument, they can fuck right off.

It's pick and choose, not both as far as I'm concerned when it comes down promoting equality and alt-right interests, and they need to choose.

This generation is going to be one of fucking wimps, who are going to be eaten alive by the real world once they're out of their universities' safe spaces.

That's why I laugh when people say "millenials" are born in 1980-2000. Absolutely none of the people from my generation (late 70's - early 80's) are anything like that. This shit came up with late 90's - early 00's kids.

Sterling reported no issues of that kind so it could be an issue with personal sensitivity (like 3D where x% of people don't "see" the effect), bad setup of faulty unit (Eurogamer claims the one they were given was).
Whatever the reason, it's still a pretty rough tech.

Batman VR is barely even a game and lasts for less than an hour.  No wonder they didn't show footage of it.

Gizmodo really nails the current state of VR gaming:
Quote
Selling VR tech with actual games people want to play is a big problem for not just Playstation VR, but VR as a whole. There’s a distinct feeling of impermanence to the concept. Games are all brief and feel more like technical showcases than experiences meant to consistently entertain. Outside of Battlezone, which has a major online competitive mode, and the puzzle titles, which are replayable by nature, none of the games I played had much lasting value. Spending $20-$50 for a very short game feels excessive.

Not a single VR system has a game I’m thirsting to return to again and again like I might to Witcher 3 or Overwatch, and support for games from major game developers is still relatively sparse. They seem to be playing the same game consumers have played up until now—waiting to see how the tech will pan out before jumping in with both feet and investing their dollars.

No idea why anyone would want to buy one of these things at launch with that software line-up.

Wait, Jeff legit puked on stream? When did this happen?

During when they were playing Batman. He just stopped and had to take off the set before hurrying off camera and hurling. Brad and Dan have been saying they don't feel right because of how "Juddery" it feels and the headset "Drifts off" in a direction even when they haven't turned their heads even when they calibrated it with the old model of the PS Camera and the new model.

Stream is basically a car crash compared to some of the 8/10 reviews the other press has given it.

It'd be excusable if she were, I don't know, 85 years old? But at 22, what are her parents thinking exactly? I mean I'm sure the name has a different 'meaning' to them, but . . . for fuck's sake . . .

I don't care how it's pronounced or what culture you come from, you should damn well know what those four letters together in that sequence mean.

Even more ironic in a thread about the difficult balancing of progressive values and local customs. :lol

The first hint is in the tone of your post.

It's simple. Attitude. If you harbour a negative attitude toward those more fortunate than yourself you have absolutely no chance of ever becoming anything like them. No chance.

I love these French threads. French people/comedians do some super mean shit and the French always chalk it up to "different senses of humor". You guys really need to get your shit together.

Don't be a pussy tho.
