Gaf really, really wants Palmer Luckey´s head in a stick.

I get why people would dislike someone that supports Trump, but dunno why they expect Facebook to fire him or videogame sites still shit talking about him when in the middle of the PSVR lunch shitstorm.

Nothing is more disruptive than a shitstorm when you sit down to have lunch.

The industry moved on because it's not that big of a deal. Sure Palmer seems like a dick, but why do they care so much about what he thinks? Buy a Vive instead.

The dude needs to either do some serious studying in the art of editing, or just admit he's not good at it and move on. But this whole "People don't realize my talent and won't hire me, so I'll make my own" won't really get you anywhere if you are just not good.

I know people who work 80 hour weeks and eventually, even with classic type a people, you start breaking down, mentally and/or physically.

I've done it for a few weeks at a time and it sucked. Luckily we seemed to get the point across that it was terribly inefficient (when one of our coders was hit with serious personal issues during the crunch, he left the company for a few months, and that made mgmt realize "maybe this isn't such a good idea").

*This whole thread*  :snoop

These people are still triggered by South Park's last season.
I seriously cannot understand how some of these people can think South Park is some "alt-right" hellhole when the historical evidence shows South Park making fun of the right plenty of times. For fuck sake, the very season they are butthurt about showed a Donald Trump stand-in destroying Canada and getting fucked in the ass against his will. Then you got Mr. Garrison, who obviously represents Trump, telling everyone to vote for Hilary because he has no idea what he is doing--and that scene happened in this very season.

It's one of the worst tv shows in existence.
Quote
Yep. Grew out of it after highschool when toilet humor was no longer amusing.
Quote
It's not JUST toilet humor to be fair but that's about all it amounts to. Toilet humor and punching down.
Quote
Nah. Watch a lot of tv. SP is easily one of the worst shows currently airing. If not the worst.
Quote
The issue isn't as much with South Park itself as people who have their ideologies formed by South Park. Matt & Trey just make fun of whatever they think is funny, which is fine. But it isn't very consistent, and the issue is with how people react to it.
Quote
In essence, SP gave them an outlet and justification for their beliefs with how over-the-top and villainous they made both concepts while attempting to showcase how little people who support minorities actually care. It's the most ridiculous and off-point commentary possible. It was a season that was nothing but a mouthpiece for the vile shit spewed by alt-righters. I couldn't dislike that season and SP as a whole even more if I tried.

I seriously don't get how anyone can not see it.
Quote
Also blown away that the South Park apologists are getting so vehement when the episode that brought it up is basically "ha ha Hillary Clinton has a vagina."
:doge

Quote
I'm just calling it what it is. Last season was nothing but a tirade against minorities, women, the left-wing, etc. etc. etc. They've done that for quite some time. It was a huge embrace of the alt-right and they ate that slop up hardcore. The fact I've seen such an absolutely horrible season also praised non-stop on Gaf is frankly speaking alarming.

As a screenwriter, the OP immediately made me laugh.

You can't stick that rigidly (minute by minute/page by page count) to breakdowns and try apply the formula to X runtime of a television pilot. Also, those rules don't really apply to TV in the same way, especially when it comes to a show whose immediate narrative doesn't appear to be self-contained within each episode like some other shows (think The Sopranos).

Shaking my head.

I know people who work 80 hour weeks and eventually, even with classic type a people, you start breaking down, mentally and/or physically.

In my first job in the games industry I worked 12-16 hours a day for 6 days a week for like a 4 month stretch (on a game that was awful and tanked that we didn't even create).

I used to wake up in the middle of the night screaming because I was having dreams where I was still solving the same problem I had been when I left my desk. It definitely fucked with my health in multiple ways and cost me my relationship (and I've not had another since).  The problem exists beyond the games industry, I also worked in interactive marketing for awhile and that was just as bad because they didn't consider us to be a software development company and refused to follow any industry best practices and they continually let clients shit on us with requests.

The people with the money are the ones who have to decide its worth changing, and I don't really see where and how that happens sadly.
