I feel like there is room for the Switch port to look a lot better.

Imma wait because that’s where I really want to play it, these types of games are perfect for handhelds imo.

The resolution doesn’t bother me too much, but the input lag would.

Honestly didn't feel input lag (in handheld mode) and it felt fine- this is not a fighting game or character action game, so it's not as important, IMO.  It's the 30 FPS that is very noticeable, but that's also because I've been playing it at 60 FPS.  Hoping they improve the port, but also not going to wait and will go back to playing this on PC.

I hope they will patch up the switch version

They will, Iga's heading up the efforts himself (going by a previous post ITT.)

We know exactly what they're aiming for from Kickstarter updates:

Quote
Hello everyone, today we have an update on our progress regarding the Switch version of the game and an update on localization.

Regarding localization, we’ve been alerted that several of the languages available for Bloodstained have not been translated to the high quality bar we set for ourselves. However, I’m happy to report that our Production teams are on top of this situation and are in the process of doing a full localization pass on all languages. You can also help in this process by visiting this forum thread and providing specific examples of problem areas encountered with any languages you play the game in.

Regarding the Switch version of the game; the amazing teams at WayForward and ArtPlay are already hard at work on improvements. Below is a list of what we’re working to fix ASAP via multiple updates over the next few weeks:

    HD Rumble fix (completed!)
    Crash stability
    Optimizing Miriam's jump

The teams are also at work on a variety of updates to the game and engine, including:

Optimizing animation for certain enemies (WayForward is testing some techniques to accomplish big things here, but it may be risky and require lots of testing, may need to be pushed to a later update)
Addressing input delay wherever it occurs
Switch-specific loading optimizations (this requires a bit more work, and will probably be in the last "ASAP" patches)

Obviously the above plan will adapt as we identify priorities and new tasks and as we add development resources, but we’ll keep you updated as we go.

We’ll also have more to announce soon as we do more to improve the Switch version of Bloodstained. We are committed long-term to making sure the Switch version is just as great and enjoyable as the other platforms, and this is just a window into our immediate action plans.

We apologize again for the inconvenience of the Switch launch not going according to plan, but we really appreciate your understanding and support as we work to make things right.

So doesn't look like the visuals and framerate are going to get any better....at least not anytime soon.

Been making my way through RE4. Been HUNGERING to replay this game for... years, but it intensified last October and I was kinda upset the port wasn't out yet. So I waited, and waited. I even preloaded the game and checked it after midnight EST on launch a few weeks back. :lol Which I've never done before, and it's for a 14-year old game. :lol I may even have one of the Steam versions in my library.

Anyways, I got Ashley (I'm taking it a bit slow, also I'm rusty, also this is my first time playing without pointer controls.) One of the big deficiencies on the non-Wii versions I've noticed is that there doesn't seem to be a "quick knife." On Wii, you'd waggle the Nunchuk and Leon would instantly throw out his knife *and* aim at the nearest crate, barrel, or enemy simultaneously. Without that, it's a more annoying three-step process of "get knife out," then "aim at barrel/crate to make sure you can kill any snakes inside," then "knife."

Otherwise enjoying the game, though I'd really have liked some more care in the presentation. Probably won't ever get it though.

IMO RE4 is a prime candidate for the Shadow of Colossus treatment... The original game is amazing, and it can (and should) be ported everywhere, but I also still kind of long for a "full remake."

That would probably bankrupt Capcom though; the impression I get is that RE4 just has too much content, and is already too widely available, for that to be feasible in the same way it was for RE2. That said, if they did do a full remake (in the vein of the SotC one, meaning a focus on fully upgrading all the tech and smoothing some of the controls without breaking them), they could do some cool extra content and additional story stuff, and I know people would turn out for those.

30fps Doom makes sense to me and I'm fine with it.

30fps 2.5D platformer makes less sense to me and I reserve the right to be annoyed by it.

Is it really? There’s nothing I’ve seen it that makes me think switch couldn’t do it at 60 FPS at some semi-reasonable resolution.

Graphically, there’s no question that something like Mario Odyssey is doing more st a higher resolution with 2x frame rate.

We know the Switch is capable of handling crazy-good current-gen ports when done by the right devs- look at Dragonball FighterZ and Mortal Kombat 11 for good examples- rock-solid 60 fps action.  Then look at SNK Heroines.  30 fps crap.  :yuck  I didn't look at that game as "Switch can't handle this lolol."  It was "Abstraction Games did a shit port job lolol."
:idont

Seems the new content that was teased in the game were a hardmode and a speedrun mode.

Edit:

Sega has announced Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega39’s for Switch. It is developed by Sega AM Research & Development No. 2 and will launch in early 2020 in Japan.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega39’s is a rhythm game featuring 101 songs (100 songs plus the newly written theme song for this game), over 300 modules (costumes), and new game modes made specifically for Switch (details to be announced at a later date). 3D character models have also been updated with an anime-style touch.

Confirmed songs include “Decorator” by Kz, “Odds & Ends” by Ryo, “Rolling Girl” by Wowaka, “Alien Alien” by Nayutan Seijin, and “39 Music!” by Mikito-P. The latter two songs are two of 10 newly recorded songs appearing for the first time in Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega39’s.

The 10 new songs included in Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega39’s will also be available for the PlayStation 4 title Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone / Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone DX as a paid downloadable content set in 2020. More information will be announced at a later date.

Pretty cool that they're also releasing the new songs as DLC for the PS4 Future Tone.

Nintendo still stomps on things they publish themselves, but they've been fairly hands off on third parties since the Gamecube I think. Only one release of that stupid BMX XXX game was altered and it was the PS2 version.
