Lmao Skyward Sword's ugly ass made it to the Switch. I guess I'll finally play it.

Skyward Sword is the only 3D Zelda I haven't played. Looks like the Switch version is 60 fps.

I liked that instead of saying the game releases this year, all he said was "we will share more this year"

Boring direct.

They really be like "we know youre REALLY excited for the ever successful breath of the wild, instead enjoy this subpar shit instead. by the way we tied sword to the stick so when you're stick starts drifting, link starts swinging"

Project Triangle looks as boring and soulless as Octopath Traveler

I guess this'll be my 3rd time trying to play Legend of Mana... the previous 2 times I dropped it because I found it so boring. Braindead easy with tons of complicated mechanics that you don't even need to deal with to beat the game, and a disjointed mess of a story. That's when the Mana series started going downhill for me... (also Kikuta >>>>> Shimomura). Shame because I love the art in LoM.

Most hyped for the Project Triangle Stategy, of course. And some nice anime tidday in Smash. A lot of the rest was kinda boring, was hoping at least for some SMT5 or Metroid.

Anyone who has followed Nintendo since the wii music incident knows that all expectations should be kept at zero.

Never mind they've spent the last 4 years porting wii u games or pushing out zero effort titles like Mario party.

I mean the big animal crossing news is they're going to keep trickling out features from the 3ds version like the coffee shop

I was wrong, they didnt even bother to show the coffee shop

Camelot...the same guys who created Hot Shots Golf and have been doing these Mario Golf games since they started.  If we go by their last release, Mario Tennis Aces, it will have been three years.

I'll play Triangle Square probably, my understanding based on people's impressions of BD1/2/Octopath are that these guys suck at telling stories. Great art/music/gameplay, but almost non-existent stories.

Triangle Square looks great, but I usually need a decent story in an srpg. Then again I beat FFTA2 so maybe not.

Also they should have just called this FFT3. Seems pretty pointless to have a new brand when it could've been the exact same game just using the FFT name and some chocobos.

BD1 & 2 (well, the other BD2) are perfectly fine. Octopath is a slog and unfun

Skyward Sword is not a bad game just really clunky and all the character artists were on strike when they made it.
The hype was insane though, I remember going to the Zelda concert in London just before release and hearing the theme song live  :lawd

No, it's bad and boring and full of tedious shit.

I had to give up and youtube the rest of the game after a point because it wanted me to do like 5 hours of fetching and I just got fed up and said fuck it.

I'd argue even without motion controls it's easily the worst mainline zelda by a good amount. It's just long and slow and boring af with very little redeeming qualities. I mean Spirit Tracks may be the only Zelda objectively shittier, but that's not a mainline one and was a no effort throwaway so I'm gonna leave that out.

You'd have to pay me $600 to replay Skyward Sword.

EA has finally given up and is just bloating the value of their husk with acquisitions at this point.
I don't think there's a publisher out there with less of a creative vision than EA.
I had high hopes for Respawn but MOH showed that was a fluke beyond their core team too.

EA had an exclusive deal to develop Star Wars games and now Disney/Lucas Arts are even passing on them for F2P games  :doge

Nintendo 5 years ago: With all our development focused on a single platform we’ll be able to avoid game storages on the system.

Nintendo today: Here’s another low effort port you pay pigs.

Really happy Skyward Sword won't be "left behind" just because of its reliance on motion controls. It's not a great game but like Aonuma implied, there are moments of brilliance. If it's truly 1080p 60fps like the footage implied (?) that makes it even sweeter.

My bet is Wind Waker and Twlight Princess will be thrown as a simultaneous bone in November for when BOTW2 is dated for 2022.

Never heard of Famicom Detective Club but I could see myself getting sucked into something like that. :thinking

Mario Golf looks solid, never bought one before but could start here maybe.

Animal Crossing + Mario stuff is a bit underwhelming but something tells me there might be a dedicated Animal Crossing Direct after this DLC launches.

Mario Golf has a story mode and experience points.
Quote
Rise through the ranks of golf training in story mode

Enroll your Mii™ character in golf training in a prestigious country club and go from rookie to pro! You’ll face off against your Mushroom Kingdom classmates and earn experience points. Level up to improve your character’s stats like power, movement, and spin. You can bring your character (and their customized stats) into other modes, too!
