The base game is $15 off ($45) so I might just get that. Unless the DLC missions involve Creek.

If you want Craig/Tweek romance stuff you'll find plenty in the main game, no worries there.

Man I really shouldn't spend anything right now but Samus Returns for $28 is tempting as fuuuuuuck.

Samus returns is highly good so far.

I’m about halfway through it or so, and it’s at least as good as fusion or zero mission, imo.

I’m definitely going to need to Re-up on Eshop funds next time they go on sale.

...I'm tempted to get Zelda, even tho I played it on Weeeeeeooooooooooo last year. But I'm having plenty of fun with Mario Odyssey and the Octopath Traveler demo, plus I've got plenty of games on other systems I'm fucking with so whatever. Should just wait until they release a greatest hits version for cheaper in like 5 years.

I didn't play multiplayer altogether too much but I had a kick going through the single player, collecting all the medals and such. Some really neat level design and stage hazards that unfortunately don't come into play very much in multi. Definitely gonna give the Octo Expansion DLC a try soon.

Spent an hour or two playing around with Splatoon 2 and man, this game is fantastic. Fucked around with multi and ended up really enjoying it, played some single player and really liked it. It has a “hip” urban Japan aesthetic, unique and arcadey gameplay, and a creepy fan base. It’s basically a smattering of Dreamcast games done Nintendo style, which makes it kinda like a Gamecube game :lol

Either way I'm loving it. Guess I'm a kid now, I'm a squid now.
The entire game is a recycling/repurposing of the FLUDD water backpack from Super Mario Sunshine, so yes, that's exactly what it is. :-*

How about something wholesome for a change, you reprehensible cretins.

Guys, if you can stomach pinball-infused Metroidvania gameplay and a dungbeetle protagonist, then by all means give Yoku's Island Express a try.

It's unexpectedly fantastic.

Great graphics, awesome artwork (with the beetle being the least likeable design), good OST, loading screen free aside from the initial/savegame loading. Also, tons of fun to play.

I'm impressed. Thank you, random drunken evening eshop buying spree.

Got Steamworld Dig 2 and Musynx (physical) yesterday.

Not sure if Musynx is for me- it's another music game but am not really feeling the music for the most part.  It was pretty cheap with the Amazon discount though.  Steamworld is fuckin' AMAZING.  I think I may like it more than Hollow Knight.

Captain Toad looks pretty good on the Switch (handheld- didn't try it docked), but has a dynamic resolution thing going on that I don't remember being in the Wii U version.  The resolution gets pretty low during some parts of the third demo level (the first "boss fight" stage against the dragon), but the framerate stays stable and it didn't bother me.  Saw a number of "not buying it now because of this!!!!" posts on REEEEEEEEE, but whatever.

One thing I don't like is that the new levels being added, based on Mario Odyssey stages, are going to be replacing the levels that the Wii U version had from 3D World.

I bet they're doing a port of 3D World in November which has those levels included anyway.
"You want more Captain Todd levels? Buy Mario 3D World Switch"

Both games run on the same engine so it doesn't make sense to not port them both.
Maybe a New 3DS port as well.

I played with a labo at Best Buy the other day, and it is kind of neat, but it’s maybe about $35 neat and not $80 neat.

The biggest weak point is that the games it has are kind of weak. The accessories work pretty well for what they are, but are quite obviously made out of cardboard, and it is no better cardboard than any other cardboard no matter what anybody says.

I was pretty impressed with how clever a lot of the gadgets were. The piano is pretty ingenious once you realize how it works, but once it’s built I couldn’t see messing with it for more than 30 minutes.

The motorcycle game was really weak, but it worked well. I could see it being fun with Mario kart.

I picked up Labo purely for the building of the items. I don't know why but the marketing brought me back to being a kid and putting together Legos/Lincoln logs/etc. I've only had time to put together the car, fishing, and house. I definitely had more fun assembling than playing. I have no regrets myself but then again my childhood was filled with the aforementioned toys.

Oh yeah? Try playing Paladins with Joycons. They suck, period.

I mean, their outstanding feature is their detachability and small size, certainly not the quality of their inputs. Priorities. :-\

By the by, jeez. Paladins is such a half-baked mess. Delightfully half-baked mess that I greatly enjoy playing, but nonetheless mess.

Weird joystick acceleration issues in the menus. Helpful loading screen messages peppered with unreplaced placeholder variables, shop pages that stack texts over texts to the point of becoming unreadable, an event with lengthy but unskippable custscenes and whose extensive multiplayer 3D platforming (!!!) sequence in the first half can make your brain melt after a few attempts.

But it's nonetheless pretty damn fun, and there's just something to be said about having a game of this kind on a mobile console.

Just started to play Hollow Knight and I'm actually fine with the "button d-pad".

Still sucks that a company that had one of the best d-pads ever (snes) has such a low focus on d-pads on their main controllers since the N64.
