He was openly gay before he got famous-famous and was just a random anti-pc dude, just not flamboyantly so and nowhere near the level he is on stage today. Just regular British.

This was his view of it in 2011:
Quote
I know no one rash – or arrogant – enough to claim they know the answer to the nature vs. nurture question, nor the proportional effect each has on a child’s sexual development. But the thought that I might influence my child towards a lifestyle choice guaranteed to bring them pain and unhappiness – however remote that chance may be – is horrifying to me. That’s why, quite simply, I wouldn’t bring a child up in a gay household and, if by some chance I were to end up having a child with a woman, I would seek to insulate that child from inappropriate situations and influences until they were old enough to understand the principles, ramifications and, yes, the mechanics surrounding such an enormous decision.

I’d describe myself as 90-95% gay. I would never have chosen to be this way. No one would choose it. You’d have to be mad. Yet there’s a view, promulgated by the mostly socially liberal media, that almost any lifestyle choice is alright these days. It chimes with, and to some degree emerges from, that vacuous milieu of bien pensant chat show psychology that says everything’s OK, as long as you’re OK with it. “Live your best life,” says Oprah Winfrey. “It’s OK, if it’s OK for you.”

But everything isn’t OK. And, ceteris paribus, no one would choose to have a gay child rather than a straight one. It would be like wishing that they were born disabled – not just because homosexuality is aberrant, but because that child will suffer unnecessarily. Again, you’d have to be mad. Or evil.

To some extent, it’s a pragmatic thing. As a parent, you want your child to have the best possible start in life, so, given the choice, you’d want it to be white, male, straight, clever and gorgeous… right?

Is being homosexual “wrong”? Something somewhere inside of me says Yes.

Look at how he acts on this video in 2013 compared to any regular presentation from his tour: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-25097085

Also people's faces turn white(r) every time Trump is on the phone with foreign leaders.

Not all corporations are against protectionism...

EDIT :

Hey, what do you know. The White House is slighty cautious about the use of new Israeli settlements and Nikki Haley in the UN was critical of Russia, most importantly stating that sanctions could only be lifted by returning Crimea.

http://www.france24.com/en/20170203-us-condemns-aggressive-russia-ukraine-fighting-continues

Guess we'll see how consistent the administration will be. One wonders if there's not some extreme stretching between Trump's own opinions, Bannon and the very orthodox Mattis.

Also : Yemeni sources claims US warships may have shelled targets in Yemen and Sean Spicer basically conflated a Yemeni-Houthi attack against a Saudi vessel with Iran aggressive moves towards the US (which may or may not be true but it's a rather blunt way of putting it).

He looks a lot better without the bleached blonde tips. :gurl Doesn't he know excess dying his hair is gonna make it fall out eventually? :gurl :gurl :gurl

ANYWAY: AFAIK, he's a massive troll that doesn't believe what he says and only says it to bring attention to Breitbart. The biggest power play against him is to NOT protest him. Let him come, talk to the small smattering (not sure if it would be small, but you know what I mean) of College Republicans that want to listen to him prattle on and make them feel they're right, and let him leave. Protesting is just giving him ammo for more attention. If folks outright ignored his appearances, he wouldn't have as much "power" as he does right now.

It's the same move you'd make in regards to cutting off Breitbart's ad network: Attack the problem (attention), not the symptom. (Milo).

Would all you folks here vote for a leftist Trump?

That is, a tyrant who would rule by EO, confuse through misinformation, and relentlessly target his enemies?

But in a left wing fashion?

IE: 20% tax on carbon, 90 day ban on guns while "we figure things out," cut federal funding for states that limit abortions etc etc?

“We have some of the bankers here. There’s nobody better to tell me about Dodd-Frank than Jamie, so you’re going to tell me about it,” Trump said, referring to Jamie Dimon, the JPMorgan Chase CEO and leader of Trump's business roundtable.

“We expect to be cutting a lot out of Dodd-Frank, because frankly I have so many people, friends of mine, that have nice businesses and they can’t borrow money,” he continued. “They just can’t get any money because the banks just won’t let them borrow because of the rules and regulations in Dodd-Frank. So we'll be talking about that in terms of the banking industry.”

Governor Rick Scott of Florida, appears to be following Donald Trump’s example of dictating policy by Twitter, with potentially far-reaching impacts for the future of US-Cuba relations.

In three simple tweets, Scott threatened to choke state funding from any Florida port that worked with Cuba. Almost immediately, two of them, Port Everglades and the Port of Palm Beach, cancelled the signing of memorandums of understanding with visiting Cuban trade officials.

Holy shit.

If Trump fucks up the Census the consequences will ripple for a decade.

Quote
A White House draft executive order proposing to restrict foreign worker visas and target immigrants who get federal aid also recommends that the U.S. Census ask about immigration status, a change that experts said could have far-reaching consequences not only on immigrants but also on local economies and political redistricting.

Annual questionnaires from the Census Bureau already ask whether respondents are citizens. But probing into the status of those who are not would be new, and Census experts say it would have a detrimental effect on future counts.

“It will drive the response rate down enormously,” said Kenneth Prewitt, a former director of the Census Bureau who is now a professor of public affairs at Columbia University. Immigrants here illegally are unlikely to answer questions about their status, he said, adding that the resulting undercount could have chilling effects.

“If you drive those people out of the Census, the consequence is that they’re not in it,” he said. “It’s a step toward not counting the people you don’t want to count. And that goes very far in redrawing legislative boundaries.”
https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/social-issues/white-house-proposal-to-ask-immigration-status-in-census-could-have-chilling-effect-experts-say/2017/02/01/1fc51b8e-e8af-11e6-bf6f-301b6b443624_story.html?utm_term=.583eaeac016c

Everything is based on accurate pop counts.

And guess which parts of the country get hurt more with undercounting?

I would disagree.  Census fuckery pissed off the people who wouldn't have voted for the Conservatives anyway.  It was a small factor.  But one of the dozens of little things the Conservatives did that turned moderate voters (like moi) against them, yes.

I think it's mostly the Conservatives going ham on the anti-muslim culture war stuff + Mulcair tripping over the issue in Quebec + Trudeau running a near-picture-perfect campaign for the marathon that it was.  (Yes, yanks, an 11-week election campaign is a marathon for us.  Stop laughing)

I would say it was more the last two factors opening the door for Trudeau. In a way, it was a classic Liberal victory; get people annoyed or tired with the Conservatives, and take all of the NDP's votes. Of course Jack had given the NDP life in recent years, but last election as you say, Mulcair messing up proved to be the window Trudeau needed to pull those NDP voters to the middle and give him the decisive victory
And obviously the wildcard factor of "inevitability" (although maybe Trudeau just got lucky in that regard when compared to Hillary)

What is amazing to me is how gawdamned disciplined Trudeau was for those 11 weeks.  Especially as compared to his time as Liberal leader before the writ dropped, and as PM since then.

He is a fucking gaffe machine if you leave him to his own devices.  Whether it's admiring China's "basic dictatorship" before the election, or his vacationing with family friend Aga Khan, cash-for-access hypocrisy, eulogising Uncle Fidel after, he does fuck up, it does make his near-flawless campaign performance all the more remarkable.

WA judge ordered a stay and visas are being reinstated, apparently.

Activist judges legislating from the bench.  :drudge

she should run for president in 2020. it would provide the necessary +1 notch of weirdness escalation and it's not like she's any less qualified than trump.

The legal & moral code helix will unwind into 2 strands at the heart of 2 grosstopically coextensive regimes ...
The City and the City -> Washington and Washington
Reality disjunction proceeding as foretold ...

Bernie Sanders needs to shut the fuck up about the DNC Chair race. Fuck that carpetbagging old shithead. Destroying our 2016 coalition and creating a million internet Optimuses wasn't enough, now he has to throw Perez under the bus?
What coalition?

Not sure how the masked group was so easily identified tbh, though they weren't the only ones participating. Antifa appeared to be the main agitators who were present waving large flags, and are believed to be the ones responsible for the other incidents such as the pepper spraying of a woman wearing a 'Make Bitcoin Great Again' hat and the attacks a little further away. The idea that it was right-wingers or Milo's grand plan seems fairly specious.

Kept open a long stream of the event that was filmed while walking around and the crowd was cheering them, in the case of the bonfire booing the police when it was extinguished. I mean, when there was a guy checking on a man believed to be a Trump supporter laying unconscious in the outer perimeter and had to tell others "I'm not a neo-nazi" just to appease those around him Those types should be weeded out from the get-go tbh.

Edit: somehow the history of that expression passed me by completely. God damn it :doge
