I think Harris is actually a pretty decent candidate, and at this point I prefer her to most of the other potential candidates.
She’s the right gender and is melanin enhanced, which a pretty big plus for Democrats (rightly or wrongly), but has enough in common with Bernie on policy so his racist cauc-bro-cishet Nazi-lite followers can still get behind her.
Biggest things against her:
- former prosecutor, so I almost guarantee you there are a few cases where someone who worked for her got some wrongly accused black dude to plead guilty on some shit he might not have done while ignoring some outside evidence (or something like that)... but I’m not really sure how one attacks her from the right on that.
- she was kind of an idiot on that one line of questioning with Kavanaugh where she’s acting like she’s about to pull some receipts but never did. That may prove to be an MO of hers and not an isolated incident.
Corey Booker is basically black Hillary. If you want to elect someone who talks in generalities about needing to do things better and make things more fair while doing nothing to address Income equality, medical costs, police brutality, or improving public education. He is your man.
Corey Booker is the candidate for Democrats that think Barack Obama was black enough but otherwise too much of a radical liberal. That appears to be a shrinking part of the party.
Franken could still run in 2020 with the tag line. “Sometimes you actually do have to grab them by the pussy”. (FYI I think he was screwed and at least two of his accusations were fake or overblown).
