I've been listening to a bunch of 538 podcasts to get the centerist view on the race and literally everyone on the podcast about 2020 Dem primary horse trading had Biden on the top of their boards.

So yeah, they (538) think Biden in the fav.
It's probably because he's been leading in the polls all year and that's their wheelhouse more than anything*:

*except counting and weighting the value of endorsements still for some reason even as they write articles about how badly this method has failed and how both parties have moved away from superdelegate type systems

spoiler (click to show/hide)
looking at Harris and then O'Rourke and now MAYOR PETE's rise in that chart, now I hope we do this with all other 19 candidates:
[close]

edit: also just noticed that if you add up RCP's averages rounding up the .5 or greaters, it now surpasses 97 points (and there's more 0.3 candidates they don't show), it wasn't that high that long ago (as you can see in the chart, when Biden and Sanders both go up along with everyone else) so people have started picking temporarily and stopped "other" or "not sure" which is a fun sign

Speaking of campaign turning points and narratives, I think Rick Perry saying you had to feel some sympathy for immigrants was worse for him than forgetting which federal department he wanted to get rid of.

Warren should have just leaned into the Pocahontas thing Trump style.

She could open every speech with “How. Me llamo Elizabeth Warren”

Quote
INDIANAPOLIS—In a surprising move, the National Rifle Association announced Saturday morning that President Oliver North will not serve a second term, despite only being in office for six months, as infighting and controversy have taken hold at the gun rights group’s annual meeting.

In a letter read by the group’s vice president to kick off the gathering, North said that he will not seek reelection as NRA president, and went on to attack the NRA law firm that filed a lawsuit against its leading ad firm. “There is a clear crisis” at the NRA regarding financial allegations, he said in a Saturday letter.

“Please know I hoped to be with you today as NRA president endorsed for reelection. I’m now informed that that will not happen,” he wrote.

The NRA’s CEO Wayne LaPierre received a standing ovation at the beginning of the members meeting. He was seated next to Oliver North’s empty chair and placard.

The announcement comes as The Daily Beast exclusively reported Friday that the NRA has taken shots at its own president in the days leading up to the the kick-off of its much-watched national meeting.

All good ideas in American politics have come from Europe. Approximately zero have been American originals.

I'm not understanding how this would not be the actions of a front runner? burying their opponents in ads isn't a time honored front-runner/well-financed campaign tactic?

does the campaign code of honor require them to cease and desist from campaign tactics until they drop in polling?

oh? so exactly like Biden has been doing?!?

This is a good solution to people not having access to nutritional food. The problem is the messaging of "farm to table" usually invokes images of hipsters doofuses in their butcher bar playing beatnicks cellos.

Does anyone know if Basic Economics is actually a good, fact-based, informative book or is just some conservative shill book suggested by conservatives who need to pimp their pet negro Thomas Sowell?

This one I don't get. Does Trump think he's actually hurting cities by claiming this? I doubt this is actually happening since the cost of doing this would be crazy expensive.

I don't get it because he's bragging about an idea that he thinks will intentionally hurt people to make a point and he acknowledges that it's "sick" but also thinks it's going to make him look good and the implicit AND explicit reasoning behind it is straight up racism.

"You're all just as racist as me but won't admit it" and "you're fine with immigrants because you're not personally exposed to them" are staples of anti-immigration thought.

The idea is that the presence of swarthy foreigners is so obviously, objectively terrible that of course there would be a backlash if you had them come to your city. It's dumb and racist, but exactly the sort of thing MAGA hat types will connect with.
