In 1970, Biden told The News Journal about how he had been criticized by racists for supporting public housing, though he was clear to point out that he was not among the people on the "far left" of the issue.

In the News Journal story, he appeared to equate a racist attack on an elderly black woman with violent street crime against a disabled white person. Biden criticized the ACLU for not acknowledging that perpetrators in each, he said, were "products of an environment."

"I have some friends on the far left, and they can justify to me the murder of a white deaf mute for a nickel by five colored guys. They say the black men had been oppressed and so on ... But they can't justify some Alabama farmers tar and feathering an old colored woman ... I suspect the ACLU would leap to defend the five black guys. But no one would go down to help the 'rednecks.' ... They are both products of an environment. The truth is somewhere between the two poles. And 'rednecks' are usually people with very real concerns, people who lack the education and skills to express themselves quietly and articulately."

The senator from Minnesota is the very definition of Midwestern charisma, grit and sticktoitiveness. Her lengthy tenure in the Senate and bipartisan credentials would make her a deal maker (a real one) and uniter for the wings of the party — and perhaps the nation.

Reports of how Senator Klobuchar treats her staff give us pause. They raise serious questions about her ability to attract and hire talented people.

Quote
Ms. Klobuchar has acknowledged she’s a tough boss and pledged to do better. (To be fair, Bill Clinton and Mr. Trump — not to mention former Vice President Biden — also have reputations for sometimes berating their staffs, and it is rarely mentioned as a political liability.)

It's going to be Joe. If you look at the polling in big states, it's a done deal unless we get a sudden surge from someone else. The race will be effectively over after Super Tuesday, though Bernard will likely pull the same shit and run a zombie campaign until June.

I don't even have a dog in this fight except Not Bernie, but that's what's going to happen.

I guess the same way Google did it through alphabet?

I really fucking don't want Biden. Bernie or Warren would be ideal, but christ, Biden is just going to be holding down the fort for whatever the next version of Trump is to take over. Dems actually get someone in office and the message is "let's go back to simpler times"? Fuck

Biden is going to be a less eloquent, less cool Obama and he’s going to be shocked that his policies aren’t more popular.

Obama got a ton of mileage out of being “cool”, even though his policies and governing were often kind of bad.
Mass drone strikes, mass deportation, the grand bargain, and trying to pretend Republicans are actually awesome is not going to go over as well when the guy doing it can barely speak.

And Biden will likely have more aggregate delegates at that point, because he'll "lose" IA, NH and NV by a couple percentage points while winning SC by double digits.

Hell, Biden may actually win Iowa, as he's currently leading there, though I could see Bernie stans making the caucuses so unpleasant that Bald Man overperforms.

Lol. The caucuses are after bedtime for Biden supporters.

i don't personally see a need to protest vote for trump cause that goes pretty opposite any bernie support i have but i'll either just not fill out the president bit or write bernie in.

nevada had a nice (but pointless) gesture of having "none of the above" on the ballot which would fit nicely.
