The revenge of King George III took 244 years, but it is here. His rebellious colonies have abandoned their revolutionary ideas of republicanism and come back to embrace an authoritarian monarchy.

That this revenge should be visited on the United States by Donald Trump is perhaps just. He and King George share many things in common. They both tried to hide their German ancestry. Both married foreigners. Both disappointed in their children. Both slightly mad.

Regardless, the vengeance is done. The GOP may have wielded the knife, but the public supported it with their apathy. No one is marching in the streets. No one is protesting on Capital Hill.

Americans have turned their back on an idea that seemed to have worked for centuries. But, for the ironically named Republican Party and its supporters, those revolutionary republican ideals were evidently no longer of use. They now accept the United States must be solely led by only one branch: an authoritarian, powerful, unencumbered leader. King George would have agreed with this outcome entirely.

The problem with the Trump impeachment comes down the poll that showed 68% was more confident in the Economy, 80%+ more confident in the military etc. since 2017.
Whatever Trump is doing is showing results in the numbers and perception of the public if you remove the word 'Trump' (even race relations).

The GOP might yet put someone else in before the 2020 election but for now Trump is how they back these numbers.
And you'd have to be a suicidal political entity to drop a President with an approval rating of nearly 70% on the economy if you don't mention his name.

Not to mention, Schiff in all his wisdom has already questioned the 'legitimacy' of the 2020 election.
Is he really that stupid to not realize it'll backfire when the Democrats actually win?

Remember when 'Fake News' was a term used 'AGAINST' Trump that he flipped in the most devastating way possible?

After the 'STRATEGY' of the centrist Democrats the Iowa poll probably showed a Bernie blowout along with a Yang surge.
Because if you followed Yang lately it has become pretty clear that by November 2020 the ticket would be ANDREW/DAVE or YANG/CHAPPELE 2020.
Dave Chapelle has been campaigning for the Yang Gang all month.

Listened to NYT's yesterday Daily podcast. It was a really good self aware post mortem on 2016. They criticize their coverage of Sanders and Clinton and really reflect. They admit that journalism has flaws. This is why I'm subscribed to NYT and not WaPo any longer. NYT has self awareness to reflect. Does it have biases? Absolutely. But you won't find a better publication in America has the same propensity to self reflect and improve. Still the best paper in America.

Either scenario stands to hurt the campaigns that are more reliant than Sanders on the realignment round that happens after the first preference vote is cast. During realignment, supporters of candidates who failed to hit a 15 percent threshold in the first vote are freed up to switch to another candidate.

It works because everyone will look at Bloomberg's debates thinking: "Gee this guy is rather short" or "Is he really standing on a box?"
In a sort of "Once you see you can't unsee" way. The same way Trump destroyed Jeb! with the low energy jab.

Also Trump's attack has double the effect. Because he didn't just attack Bloomberg's height, but also the thing he could do (and the likes of Hillary did) to look 'taller'.
Mike can't bring out the box now so he has no way to look taller.
