I've had this discussion before on GAF. It turns out in the US a woman can rape a man now. The law was changed.

In the UK a woman can't rape a man though. Rape is still defined by the act of penetrating. Since a woman doesn't have a penis technically she can't rape. I disagree with this personally though.

Also, I thought this was beautifully pertinent to the people we speak of here.

What a ton of people don't understand about the Crimea war is that Crimea was Russian. The vast majority of people living there are Russians, not Ukrainians. The Soviet Presidium transferred Crimea to Ukraine in 1954, but didn't actually have the authority to do so, which means the transfer was null and void. But, since both Russia and Ukraine were parts of the Soviet Union, nobody gave a shit for decades. That, and the strategic value of the region, caused Russia to annex it after they lost their puppet president. I heavily doubt Russia has any further ambitions to invade anything else West of their border. They have more than enough land and plenty of natural resources, there's nothing for them to gain.

The article quotes her, after lighting herself on fire but before dying, as saying she was killing herself because she was homeless and that gg / kiwifarms shit is mainly referred to as being in the past, not to mention the wealth of mental health issues that pop up if you look into this person's history.

All this seems opportunistic as fuck.

Not only do I feel bad about such a brutal death, but imagine having your suicide overshadowed by people trying to make it about gamergate and spending more energy on cursing them rather than grieving you.

I know that she blames the mental health system (and the entire health system as a whole), but I want to say it anyway:

And the way Dale Beral writing bounces between light and thoughtful, to morbid and depressing (but still funny)... webcomic was irreplaceable, and like all amazing art, too good to keep in perpetuation

Well with being a jumper, there's a few aspects. 1: it's cheap, you don't have to own a gun or even rope. 2: unless you survive the fall, the act is painless. 3: once you commit, that's it. If you're afraid you'll have second thoughts and wind up in a hospital with slit wrists, jumping removes that chance.

Besides a gun, what method isn't violent and stressful?  Even jumping from an incredible height seems less intimidating than drop hanging (separating your spine) to me.

Despite movies telling you otherwise, overdoses are fucking hard to do unless you're overdosing on something like Fentanyl.

IIRC, you still have a 3 minute period after the shotgun blast. So not all deaths are "instantaneous" as you have the "last one out, get the lights" body-shutdown process.
