The REE mods just want to play out their Stalinist fantasies.

They dress up in USSR NKVD garb, start their computer and start smashing those warn and ban buttons while they furiously masturbate and read all the reports.  :ussrcry

Regarding furious masturbating, I hear some of them like to edge.

They do it by coming here and posting even though they have no power. Some are on this very page,

Hm.

The dates check out, but we know that Resetera would never welcome a member of a notorious alt-right forum with active transphobic members, never mind promote them into a position of power.

So whats going on here?

Why even close any thread if the quality has "diminished"? Why not just let it slide into irrelevance if it's so lame? Wouldn't people just stop posting in it eventually when they have nothing left to say?

I hate the habit of thread closing.   Drives me nuts and it's one of the reasons I at some point stopped getting into any remotely long winded arguments on GAF and never really started on ERA.

Writing those pointless mini-essays takes time, and then you literally could have the thread closed before you hit post, or right after, etc.  lol

Theres a forum on the internet that was about railroads.

Before you laugh, you nerds like anime, so fuck off.

Anyway, the moderators were idiots. Someone would post a somewhat open ended question. Someone would answer. Thread locked because the question was answered. ???

Hypotheticals were banned.

Any slightly off topic reply = thread lock.

They didnt understand that the purpose of a discussion forum was discussion. More posts = more activity = more ad revenue. But nope. Lock, lock, lock.

What used to be a very active forum now gets like 5 posts a day across 40 subforums.

Was this forum dedicated to model railroads or actual railroads?

I've known a couple of people who were heavily into the models, and those are some....interesting people.  I almost witnessed a fistfight when there was a disagreement over the amount of bolts in a foot-long section.

No one even seems to have a consensus on how much of that character is real. People have said that he's actually really outgoing and some people say that no, that's just a slightly played up version of his every day personality.

He's a pretty awkward fellow.

See the Jordan Peterson thread which lasted for like, what, 150, 200 pages? Am I remembering that right? So in that context, yeah, you have to close threads or else they would never stop being at the top of the page and annoy everyone else.
It's still going: https://www.resetera.com/threads/jordan-peterson-the-intellectual-we-deserve.30669/page-105

Though I notice the OP "requested account closure" as did the OP of this Wank Dad thread: https://www.resetera.com/threads/the-atlantic-why-the-left-is-so-afraid-of-jordan-peterson.61134/

Though the OP of this thread thankfully will not even though they are unlikely to win ERA Poster of the Year sadly: https://www.resetera.com/threads/jordan-peterson-blames-violent-men-on-women-not-marrying-them-says-enforced-monogamy-is-incel-cure.43411/

It wasn't really something I thought about until I encountered people involved in it, but looking back yeah, it's obvious.  Some of those models are cool as fuck though...I knew one dude whose railroad building was bigger than his house.

IGN just went full Kotaku. Never go full Kotaku.

https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/01/10/opinion-video-games-have-a-dead-football-player-problem

Quote
I realized I was running all these dead men around the field, people who died in an anguish that many of them could not understand, a suffering inflicted by their vocation... and my patronage. Those blips on the screen represent specific, real people whose bodies were given over to a violent sport for the sake of our entertainment and for the acquisition of profit. My heart tells me there’s something wrong with the way we’re treating sports in video games.

This would be an amazing topic for Resetera. Surprised not to find one yet. Then realize they have OT's for the NFL and College Football and have those banned.

Also, fuck, that game came out 30 years ago, of course some players will be dead. He should fire up some Madden games and see how many dead people are in the classic and all-time teams.

The reason why most remaining members don't notice the insanity is because it developed gradually, while their bubble prevents them from objectively observing the outside world and noticing the discrepancy. For the first couple of months you could have rational discussions on Resetera.

Unlike that racist filth from the same place as the racist Nintendo alt-right simulator Smash Bros. came from, Thomas The Tank Engine is Verafled now: https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/thomas-tank-engine-gender-balanced-female-trains-characters-steam-team-revamp-multicultural-a8517981.html
Quote
In recent years, the TV show has come under fire from some parents who believe Thomas sets a bad example to children. “The engines are all very rude to each other most of the time,” wrote one parent in a review.

“I believe it teaches bad behaviour with examples of jealousy and envy and plain old mean-spiritedness,” added another.

Thomas & Friends has also been accused of being sexist for its lack of female characters and for not being ethnically diverse enough.

However, 73 years after Thomas the Tank Engine was created, the iconic British brand is today unveiling the latest changes intended to capture a new generation of fans around the world.
Quote
After years of accusations of sexism, racism and classism, Thomas the Tank Engine has now been updated for 2018.

The children’s TV show, based on the books by Rev Wilbert Awdry, has been revamped and a brand new series launches next week featuring multicultural characters and female protagonists.

The new female characters include Isla, an Australian flying doctor; Hong-mei, a number 1 blue tank engine from China; and Churubala, a female railway controller from India.

The Steam Team is now gender-balanced, with three male and three female characters: Percy, James, Gordon, Emily and new members Nia and Rebecca, as well as Thomas. The brand hopes this will boost appeal among female viewers, with girls representing more than 40 per cent of the show’s viewership.

And, as Thomas leaves Sodor for the first time, he will encounter characters from around the world, many of which are female, such as a new African steam engine from Kenya called Nia, Ashima from India, Yong Bao from China and Shane from Australia.
Quote
Other changes include a more contemporary feel, faster-paced action, increased humour and music, animals, fantasy elements and dream sequences.

Thomas will also “break the fourth wall” for first time and take up the role of series narrator.

The huge relaunch is the centrepiece of “a major strategic brand refresh”, designed on the back of market research with hundreds of children and parents around the world.

The creators of the show also collaborated with the United Nations to promote their Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on gender equality, life on land, responsible consumption and production, sustainable cities and communities, and quality education.

Ian McCue, senior producer at Thomas & Friends™, says: “The show has undergone an evolution to remain relevant for the next generation of parents and children by opening up the world of Thomas & Friends so children can discover the world around them while being entertained.

“The changes and new additions of characters and geographies will make the show more entertaining, inclusive and global – while ensuring all the favourite characters and storylines that fans around the world love remain at the heart of the action.”

Of course the wedding industry is a huge fucking hustle but the social awkwardness on display is so pure and refined  :delicious

If you spend 44k on a wedding, wtf are you doing with your life. Might as well use that money for something like a down payment on a house or something useful.

Of course a homophobe like stufte wants florists to go out of business.

Remember when Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton were very public besties for years and years and had a big falling out when Perez Hilton made fun of her Born This way track because it was such a phony message  coming from her, and how it sounded like a madonna ripoff.

Perez Hilton, the gossip bully who posted on his blog how he loved to expose closeted gays in the business and bully them into going public, and would draw dicks on pictures of celebs and add sperm stains to women.

He also had endless run-ins and controversy with the gay community while they were still friends. He ended up donating money to a gay support org and THEY REFUSED TO TOUCH IT.

Lady Gaga, the ally  :doge
