I'm actually super pissed off and would love to call her out for the piece of shit of a talentless hack she is living off the collective pity. I like how so much of the discussion around this sexual impropriety and harassment stuff harps on power imbalances but nobody on ree is acknowledging that Quinn had way more social capital in the community in the first place as the face of "gamergate victims" and at this point has used it do a disturbing end. TBH it doesn't sound like she's lying about what he did, but it's pretty clear at this point that she knows how to use her own bad decisions as a way to further her career as a professional victim. She could have handled this in a hundred different ways that wouldn't have driven this dude to suicide, but those probably wouldn't have been as lucrative. Fuckin sociopaths brehs

It was half-jokingly suggested that she did this as her Kickstarter funds were running low. All those expensive 'research' holidays and hotels must have started to add up. Nothing like a salacious story like this to up the coffers.

According to his sister's post he was also victim of abuse and had been suffering from mental health issues for most of his life. I find it hard to believe that Zoe Quinn, creator of the game "Depression Quest" was unaware of these things, but she never mentioned them in the tweet or any of the tweets afterwards. It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.

There's some hearsay, but since she actually told people back in the day, the hearsay is probably fueled by whispers within the industry. No one really brought up anything solid aside from bad dating and begging for sex (in one instance and not abusing)

I keep drafting shit posts but really there's not much to say that hasn't been said. I guess everyone can always do with more introspection, maybe Zoe Quinn too, but it's a matter for her and her conscience really.

As I said I'm pretty pessimistic about the speed at which society will be able to transform or invent new mediations so that accusers wouldn't feel forced into just springing the court of public opinions, accused had the time and space to defend themselves and punishment be a modern day version of banishment.
