Re read my post and try to understand what context I was talking about that is greater than China or the U.S. or any single country. Then go read a few hundred years of global history (pay special attention to West-East relations over the last 200 years) and try to understand that atrocities are committed by every single government, because that's how far humanity has evolved, which fucking sucks but is not going to end until we grow up as a species. If you're able to follow along that far try coming up with a better metric - i.e. one more connected to reality - for contributing to the human race than "not belonging to a country that's committed atrocities".

If you can do that you'll only be 2 or 3 steps behind the level required to engage in serious discussions about international politics.
