I'm sorry I'm not going to fault her for trying to keep 600 criminals in jail. I watched a documentary on that event. I have actually read into it a lot. The evidence wasn't bogus. The lab tech took a little bit of a bunch of evidence. The tech was taking shit to get high. She was testing if something was in fact drugs, and when they were she would take a bit for herself. Was it wrong? Yes. Was it evidence tampering. Yes. Does it actually change whether the drugs were real or not? Hell noIt's not like she was fighting to keep a bunch of legit innocent people in jail. She was fighting to keep criminals in jail that were about to be let go because of someone stealing drug evidence. Criminals let go on a technicality. A shit ton of them got reprosecuted and put back in jail too.

If lapsed Trump supporters need a safe space to avoid the judgement of leftists, that is for their most immediate support structure to do. The arrogance here is fucking astounding. Some of you don't actually want things to get better, you just want to bask in your own perceived moral superiority.
I think the better solution is to work out some sort of pseudo-nationalization (probably couldn't pass the full thing). Get to a place where these tech firms operate like military contractors; sure Boeing makes other shit, but a lot of contractors are basically govt agencies, with govt employees embedded in all levels of the "private" company. We should have that for tech. Just a shit ton of govt bureaucrats looking around various levels of Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Amazon, etc... , not just in person but with full access to their network. When I was a military contractor, everybody knew that the govt guys were your boss. Technically, maybe not, but if any of them said "the contract depends on you firing this person" you'd be shitcanned that week (and as a technically private employee, you didn't get the govt firing process!). Your emails were totally available to the govt (and of course, we were on govt machines). Do that. No more bringing Zuck and Co into Congress to ask them about memos they don't remember or whatever. Just tear them open and latch on; they shouldn't find that problematic in a way that sways the public. We wouldn't be slowing down their "genius" or whatever tech libertarians are jacking off about in SF these days. "Just do what you guys were gonna do! We're just here to watch."
