I agree "GIMP" should have its name changed and "Glimpse" sounds nice but I find it confusing. It seems like the name of an image viewer.

I think the name should look and sound nice to make it more attractive for a wider audience but also hint at some aspects of the program (free, open source, raster image editor) or concepts about art creation and modification (expression, drawing, filtering, processing...). It could even be a completely made up word with no meaning that just sounds pretty to the ear but using a word that means "to briefly look at" gives a meaning that is not what the program is about.

If it's not too late I'd like to submit some ideas:

Within just today, we have seen news stories like 73 percent of Republicans blaming liberals protestors on January 6th, Republicans blocking the January 6th commission, Manchin/Sinema refusing to nuke the filibuster, and Matt Gaetz calling for violent use of the second amendment. Republicans are going full fascist, and a scenario where Trump returns to the White House or someone equally as evil like Ron DeSantis, is certainly possible. They may even have a Republican trifecta, and it's hard to imagine that scenario ending well. We have also seen that with racist attacks on the rise against Asian Americans and African Americans, they have been arming themselves.

Based on the above, should all liberals in America be arming themselves? I'm at a point where I personally say no because I don't believe guns solve anything and have young kids in my house, so I don't want a gun. But if American democracy truly does collapse, then I'll definitely reconsider the question. We may get to a point where people saying "just vote" isn't going to cut it, assuming we can still even vote. Your thoughts?
