It was quicker to just look up a news article on google. The tweet is basically buried in a quagmire of people showing their disgust, but not actually looking into what happened.

When asked about the incident caught on video, an NYPD spokesperson provided Newsweek with information about the protest at the Applebees location, where several individuals entered the location without masks and refused to show their COVID-19 vaccine cards on December 15.

"Upon arrival, officers were informed by the manager that individuals entered, refused to prove vaccination status in compliance with NYS Mandate and requested for the individuals to be removed from the location," the NYPD spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that four individuals were arrested following the protest and were charged with criminal trespass. The individuals seen in the video of the mother and child were not arrested.

Newsweek followed up with the NYPD to confirm that the incident on video occurred on the same date as the December 15 protest but did not receive a response in time for publication.

Please, in concrete terms, tell me a vaccine mandate or vaccine pass to eat in a restaurant is good.

The best course of action would be to lock down everything. If you want to keep the economy running, the vaccine mandate/pass is your second best course of action to keep the spread of the virus as low as possible whilst keeping the economy running. Is it nice? No. But it's better than just letting the virus run rampant.

What's best for public health doesn't neccesarily have to be the thing you deem to be good or nice.

That's not why I've turned away from D's. I've hated D's since Obama. Hochul isn't progressive she's a center left dino. However it's the progressive policies Ive seen in action which proves to me progressivism/socialism don't work and that was the only reason I've stuck with D's for so long. I've said before that progressive policies are ineffectual and based on emotion and feelings rather than results. With this in mind my options are either don't vote or vote red. Like I said, witnessing the poor policies of liberalism reveals only two options: choosing leftism or choosing conservatism. I've decided to choose conservatism. Also, I learned to believe in myself beyond victomhood here and that the only thing keeping myself from growing is myself. R's on a federal level is just icing. On a state and local level? Hell yes. Republicans fall in line so such a schism is unlikely.

Democrats censor thought and speech by extension which I find the biggest threat to humanity as it is now: using technology to control minds and hearts. Democrats have gleefully jumped aboard to population thought control. Democrats get control what is said, allowed, and heard in the public sphere. They aligned themselves with a corporate stranglehold on speech and what is allowed to be said. Democrats bully and coerce. They don't value freedom and will toss away any freedom in the name of security and safety. This isn't fringe. This is the Democratic agenda du jour. Yet they claim to speak for me, people like me, working class people, and more. All talk as they sip from their corporate master's teet. The same people that criticize capitalism are on board with this party if it weren't laughable enough.

Republicans have a lot of issues, Islam phobia being one of my top issues with them. But at this point I consider them the lesser evil. You claim the right could fall under the pressure of too many interests but our interests are aligned. Democrats however have to contend with progressives, center dems, conservative Dems, and now former Republicans under one roof. Tough pill to swallow. Years ago I thought Trump destroyed the Republican party when in fact he's destroyed the Democratic Party. Look at Manchin. Look at Sinema. Look at their ability to not hold an agenda because of the too many pots and pans. And they control all three branches with tiny majority. Meanwhile Republicans stick to the plan. I very much wish I voted for Trump 2020 so, so bad.

Edit: see, on my way to work I spied a local coffee shop sign here in Chinatown. The sign? "Vaccinated and Caffeinated." Vaccination, which I support and suggest everyone get, is being treated like the latest iPhone. It is a status symbol and shame tactic, not a thing of public health. Yes, it lets you book / cancel / amend doctors appointments.

The part related to 'social / lifestyle / political' data that is tracked but stored locally for anonymity is about meta data.

If you go to a venue that has an outbreak, should you know there was one - the 'track and trace'  aspect? Yes, that's how you can reduce outbreaks. There's no way of doing that without that record.

Can you infer details about someone based on where they visit if that's not anonymised? Of fucking course you can.
If someone is regularly going to a synagogue you can probably infer their religion.
If someone is regularly going to a gay bar you can probably infer their sexuality.
If someone is regularly going to a pub for hours on end and not a gym, you can probably infer something about their lifestyle.

You're conflating two things. Electoral strategy and personal ideology are obviously not the same thing. You didn't make a statement about Democrats and Republicans. You argued that "liberalism" had failed and the only choices left were "leftism" and "conservatism" which meant you had to choose conservatism. This continues to be false. Eluding this by pointing to partisan electoral politics is not a response.

In any case, the Republicans are probably not a viable party in New York if they cling to MAGA (or conservatism even in a Reaganite form) and are especially not in New York City outside of Staten Island. The mandates are not going to turn people into single-issue voters even if you have personally become one over them.
