It appears less than ten seconds into the customization trailer. And even the first is comprised of varying skin tones and bodies and generally way more than just texture swaps. You asked a very easily answered question.

The main issue is that when you were told yes you immediately downplayed the extent of what they showed off for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Zero sense.

It's pretty transparent because they literally said day one that it would have the character creator but I have never ONCE seen that question asked for any of the other saints row games, ever. Regarding the marketing materials that just happened to have, a white dude on the cover who's voiced by Troy Baker. Yet somehow this uh..what was the term?.... "Focus tested" game without fail can't go a single thread without someone asking if there's an option to not play as the black woman, or if there is a character creator, etc. etc.. and I don't wanna hear any "I didn't mean it that way" responses to this post because again, NEVER a question for the other SR games despite identical marketing.

And the tweet in that thread indicates they won't show anything about the character creator until next summer. The guy asked if there were screenshots or video of it yet and they started dragging him for "doubting Saints Row customization" and implying he's some kind of crypto-racist rather than being skeptical about something we haven't seen. It's worth considering as the last two Saints Row games included the character creator in the marketing to the point they released the character creator months before the games.

To some extent I understand it, and can even be guilty of it. People are scared, there ARE a lot of bad actors out there. Not just COVID, but issues of race, transphobia, you name it, so you often feel you can’t trust anyone and it’s an extreme us vs them mentality that builds and stews, and in a way it’s justified and necessary, but it feels like here it often gets out of control and people are quick to assume the worst and lash out and don’t think about how the person on the other end feels being lumped in with the MAGA crowd.
