Someone pops into Constructive apropos of nothing to crack up that breakfuss REAL INTENTIONS were finally revealed.
Dude with the cream of wheat av posting all that nonsense is killin me man 🤣 Joined in 2017 and it took this long, five fucking years, for his real intentions to pop. God bless!
Also Hecht posts this which would be a good post on another message board, but on Era right after the Embiid post and the whole Smith/Rock thing is pretty funny:
First off, fuck you Coyote Starrk. Just want to show there is no favoritism.
But one of the things that is both interesting and infuriating is that staff needs to be cognizant of damn near everything that goes on in the world. Seriously, we should all have geopolitical degrees in order to do this shit. That’s on top of things like racial injustice, gender inequality…and I’m forgetting something, oh yeah, GAMING industry knowledge.
I am immensely proud of the staff we have for being able to navigate the myriad bullshit that shows up every single day. I am fairly up to speed on gaming and have a general understanding of political issues. But I’m a cis, straight, white, male, so I rely on other staff members to help out for a lot of other things. And I respect their opinion and take it into account before I make any decision (assuming I am the one that needs to make the decision). I’m not gonna whine about how hard it is, but the breadth of topics we have to cover and moderate is not a simple task.
And having everything show up all at once, holy fuck. May as well have a thread entitled “Will Smith praises Russia during a presser in Palestine where he was there to promote his new cryptocurrency.”
Then Royalan pops up to make sure we all know his behavior in threads is "soft power" to "guide discussion" instead of outright moderating, and with that I'd like to never hear Era mods claim their casual posts shouldn't be read as mod stance:
Thank you so much for mentioning me. ❤️
Although it would weigh on my heart if I didn't mention that, lately, I really haven't been that active on the moding side of things. Work stuff, mental health stuff, etc. I do weigh in on some of the bigger reports/issues, answering DMs, attending the meetings to stay up-to-date. And lately I have personally favored the "soft power" of moderating a thread through directly guiding discussion. But, in terms of the day-to-day stuff that keeps the place going, there are so many members of the team who really put that work in.
