Do they really think people watch comedians to "get informed" and not to be entertained? Many comedians are sociocultural commentators so those kinds of topics will just come up, but it's a niche class that goes to them for information purposes. People watch Tucker for the same reason, it's a show, it just happens that they feel informed by it because our modern society has a very shallow notion about what it takes to be informed on a topic. (See how effortlessly everyone on Twitter/ResetERA.com talks immediately as they've always known about the latest topic ala viruses or vaccines or Ukraine or making financial decisions for international conglomerates or judging the true nature of reality based on the first reports about a potential criminal chaotic event...)

If any of the Usual Cuntspects on era had bothered to actually fucking watch the Ghost In The Shell film, the fact that ScarJos own mother doesn't recognise her anymore after the extensive cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to transform her from an asian woman into ScarJo hits extra hard.

Still shows that the movie completely misses the point. In the original, her body is designed to look like a common, off-the-shelf model, same face and all. The Major looks exactly like a ton of other cyborgs, which makes sense given her line of work. That alone is a good enough excuse to cast any attractive, popular actress regardless of ethnicity, even though I think ScarJo looks a bit too distinct. And the Major is not sure she even has parents, or if she's entirely artificial like the Puppet Master, so showing her mother is stupid because it answers a question the manga deliberately leaves unanswered.

Scarlett Johansson has played a sexy alien siren from a 4th dimensional civilization, a AI voice interface who causes a man to fall in love with her, a women who develops super powers becoming an omnipresent universal computer who rules reality and also the ultimate super soldier in a world with God's, monsters, and Groot.  She's basically too beautiful to play a normal human.
