The news isn't interesting because they got fired.  It's interesting because the employees were fed enough to put their jobs on the lines to send the email. It's more evidence that he's not a steller CEO.  Seems like they were serious, are no longer working for him, and did so in a way that potentially helps the people who are dissatisfied with Musk but don't want to lose their job.   The takes that this is the obvious consequence of publically criticizing your boss are not necessary because no one expected them not to be fired.   Also the free speech hypocrisy (ya ya not free from consequences etc etc).

While you may not care enough about Taco Bell to put your cashier job on the line, many people enjoy the jobs they're doing and care about the work. Asking for positive change is not a negative thing. Companies are made out of people, if they aren't happy, your don't have a company

They sent an email asking for people to provide feedback. That's pretty reasonable.

I agree it’s interesting that the employees were ready to go with that open letter, but the result is not surprising in the least, especially when your first demand point of discussion is for the company to publicly condemn its own sitting CEO.  A smarter play would’ve been to keep it more neutral in tone with regards to Elon’s public behavior and the impact that has in the workplace.  Maybe a request for open dialogue with the company heads before going full-tilt.
