One of my personal favorites in this genre, not a single statement in any of these tweets from this Harvard-employed lawyer is true, the replies to the first two are full of cheering, celebration gifs, "haha get fucked elon", "good things do happen", etc. and the tweets go unredacted, uncorrected and there's no apology for completely making shit up because lol why:

For instance, the number of Chinese Mastodon users tripled in recent months, from 50,000 to 156,000 (as of August 2022) as more and more Chinese try to escape ever tightening state censorship.

Given his prominence, maybe Jack Dorsey's Bluesky Social has a better chance to become a viable alternative to Twitter. The more, the merrier.

Elon is an attention-whore shitposter, who, like most public-facing rich people feel compelled to bloviate about themselves and their beliefs to feel adulation from a crowd.  He's done impressive stuff from a business perspective, though -- still it's very easy to avoid how annoying he is: just get off Twitter.   It's these disgusting, man and womenchildren that are too addicted to social media to do anything but whine and cry, and have no real convictions about anything that are the most despicable people in all of this.  Then they turn their lack of conviction from something that is shameful into a badge of courage by aggrandizing the threat of some annoying shitposter into some superfascist that they're defending against by staying on the platform.   Truly the most obnoxious people on earth.  I've seen this a million times as a vegan for ethical reasons - so many progressives will agree with the ethics, but will do anything to avoid doing anything that involves actual work or conviction, and then, to avoid the dissonance and shame, they'll trick themselves into thinking lacking a conviction and follow-through is actually the moral stance.   Get off Twitter or stop complaining about it, you fucking losers.
