Plus it makes no sense to have ANOTHER big budget licensed SRW before Z2-2 is done and 2nd OGs is done.

I mean, I can see a handheld DS/3DS SRW during that time from by the handheld team, but a big budget licensed srw?  Makes no sense.

Then again Bandai never makes sensee, so we'll see.

Could be a 3d one by the team that did GC/XO/Neo though.  Pic looks kind of 3d.

Looks pretty fake. That shot of the OO Gundam looks awfully pixelated, almost like it's from a Wii or PSP game or something.

Guess we'll find out on Monday or Tuesday when Famitsu leaks.

SRW Perfect Stage was being rumored before TGS 2010, but it turned out to be fake.

From GameFAQs back in March 2010:

Totally fake.

Oh, here's a new scan of Gundam Extreme Versus:

duckroll showed me the site it came from; site says it's an old fake and the article its in was about how fakes end up becoming real games.  Like how after that fake, 2nd SRW OGs was announced.

Also the cloth on full cloth doesn't look very cloth-like in that pic.  Hmmmm; looks more like wings.

No new PV until late September or early October. Nothing at TGS. Sounds like this game is far from finished...

Which we figured.  Probably early 2012 release unless more major delays.

Big question is if it delays Z2-2 as well.  Hope not!  But if it does I wouldn't expect Z2-2 before summer 2012 at earliest :\

I'm not that upset at the $100 prices since the amount of games worth importing has dropped radically in the last year or so to counter it.  I used to get like 2-3 $75 imports a month during the busy seasons.  Now it's like 2-3 $100 imports over 3-4 months.

Just getting $100 Xillia, $100 Gundam Versus, and $100 One Piece Musou.  Might get $100 Agito but dunno.

Good thing $100 SRW got delayed.

It's the Yen right now. Damn thing keeps getting stronger and stronger. When I was in Japan in 2006, it was ~116 Yen to 1 USD. Last year when I was there it was ~85 Yen to 1 USD. Now it's 76 Yen to 1 USD.  :o

Quote from: Mecha Damashii
4Gamer has a piece on the console port of Gundam Extreme Versus and its all new game modes. From a new “Trial Mission” setup, where you can clearly face off against Crux Dogatie in the skeletal EMA-10 Divinidad (shown above). In addition, the limited release XM-X1 (F97) Crossbone Gundam X-1 Kai Kai “Skull Heart” in the arcade edition appears to be a fully accessible unit in the console port (as also shown above). Following on from that there are two confirmed PS3 exclusive mobile suits in the game, that of the GN-002 Gundam Dynames and the MBF-P03 Gundam Astray Blue Frame 2nd L.

Yep, that's what I figured.  Though if it's an rpg that just follows the plot of the anime I don't see the point.  Hopefully it's a spinoff.

Regardless it's a L5 rpg so it probably won't be any good.

Wonder when we'll get some real mecha news that's not GvG E or Armored Core V.  This thread (and Japan) have been really quiet lately regrading mecha.  Mr. Gundam, are you going to play that Senritsu action game by Nudemaker/Konami?  It's mecha sorta.  I'm thinking about playing it.

I honestly can't see an RTS being fun on PSP unless it was sidescrolling like Grim Grimoire.

Also more 0079 retread games zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz   They should try a new strategy of making games from random Gundam series.  Like announce a Turn A rpg, a Gundam X action game, a Gundam Wing RTS, etc... mix it up!

I'm passing on Senritsu despite the mecha because I don't really have time to play anymore games this fall and uhhh

I'm slowly still working on SRWA3, and that will have to do until GvGE for my next mecha experience.  Then Armored Core V which hopefully will be a positive reboot for the series.

And the Wii game is kinda like the Gundam Side Story game for Dreamcast, just more action and less sim.  But I'd like another more realistic gundam game.

Macross Last Frontier (PS3) gameplay footage.

Quote
As expected, it only covers Itsuwari no Utahime & Sayonara no Tsubasa, but it plays perfectly, everything is beautiful, and once you see how much flak comes from any given Vajra capitol ship, you'll know that this is what everything before was building up to. OMG!!

Also, plays more like MUF than MTF, I'm guessing the newer missile lock mechanic wasn't super popular. There are 10 stages, 5 for each movie, and like the demo last year the first round of stages have locked characters/mecha, and once you beat them all, you can play with mecha/characters you've unlocked. There's a decent amount of Trophies, and so far no sign of being able to level up mecha.

Famitsu has direct feed screens.  It definitely looks sharper, but it's still going to animate like per-rendered crap unfortunately.  LoE was a game I played entirely for the story and gameplay.  As opposed to 50% playing for the awesome attack animations in most srws.  Guessing sequel will be the same.

It does seem REALLY REALLY odd that they brought LoE back, incorporated it into OG timeline and now made a sequel to it...yet the masou-kishin aren't in 2nd OGs and there's no LoE story in it like everyone thought there would be.

Hopefully they're saving a big 2nd OGs surprise....

I played a bit of Macross Last Frontier (PS3) last night. Five missions from the first film and five from the second with fixed units. It actually creates a save file this time around so you don't have to keep replaying everything whenever you want to play the game.

Quote from: Andria Sang
A few additional details have surfaced regarding From Software's PS3 adaptation of Gundam Unicorn. As detailed earlier, Gundam UC will cover the first three episodes of Unicorn and will include almost all Mobile Suits that appear in those episodes. Publisher Namco Bandai is planning a release for some time in Spring 2012.

Here are a few additional bits from an interview and feature in this week's Famitsu:

The developers are trying to give the game a feeling of speed. They're also putting effort into recreating the Mobile Suits, both with details and with a feeling of weight that makes the Mobile Suits feel real. For transformable Mobile Suits, you'll see the transformations take place right before your eyes -- no transition screen to cover up the details. Sunrise apparently expressed surprise at the level of detail in the Mobile Suit recreation.

The game will have an incredible amount of voice. The scenarios include cast members like Banagher, Marida and Frontal. These scenarios appear to be intertwined, as playing through a scenario for one character will unlock a scenario for another character.

The scenarios will be told in full CG, although it appears that some scenes will be shown in anime form as well.

Only a few gameplay details have been revealed so far. Famitsu mentions the "Sub Flight" system, where you can climb atop a Mobile Suit that can switch into flight form.

So why is From Software making Gundam UC? There's nothing really interesting to report here -- Namco Bandai just approached From and asked if they'd like to make a game based off Unicorn.

Of course, From has worked with Namco Bandai in the past. In addition to Namco Bandai serving as international publisher on Dark Souls and Armored Core V, From is the developer of the Another Century's Episode series.

In ACE, you could just mash away at the buttons and your mech would attack and switch between weapons. Gundam UC will give you the option of using an updated version of that simple control system.

Development on Gundam UC is currently at 70%.

Hyped.

So I was thinking the other day, what the hell is up with the lack of licensed SRW games right now?  They sure were pumping them out during the GBA/DS days and it was nice because you'd get a new series in a console version and then later in a handheld version along with other weird series.  But nothing since L (no the gakuen game doesn't count).

Assuming that

Z2-1 team is doing Z2-2
OGs team is doing 2nd OGs
team that did LoE remake is doing LoE PSP

What are the team that did the GBA/DS games doing?  I'm ok with having so many OGs games as long as we still get just as many licensed games to go along with them, but it's a been a while since Z2-1 now and I'm hankering for some new SRW licensed game announcement to see what shows they add.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Plus I just want a SRW that uses OO S1 2nd OP in chiptune :X
