He's giving people back what they already had before the banks wrecked the economy. The same sort of unwritten contract that the Chinese communists and Putin have with their population.
No, not at all.
He might be referring to the feels-before-reals crowd who live in their own reality.
Or maybe I'm just being very generous.
Exactly. He's making them feel he's bringing back the jobs, cars and houses they had before the banks and politicians 'took' everything.
And with economic growth more people get jobs, it's easier to get loans, the tax cut nets them some extra pocket money etc. .
So even if Trump is not a big factor in their lives improving, it seems that way. It looks and feels like he's doing a lot of things for them.
In exchange they cheer him on at the rallies, allow him to play golf on their tab and vote for the people he says they should vote for.

I'm sorry lady, all the monies are going to Space Force.
I feel like you’re just looking at top line numbers and assuming that it’s trickling down when that’s not really accurate. Less than 1% of American workers received a “tax cut” bonus, and of those that did, the terms were very aggressive in terms of like “must have worked at Walmart for 20+ years to get the full $1000”, so most of those people only got like $100.
The average working American makes less in real terms today than they did one year ago, but mortgage rates are skyrocketing and housing costs are also skyrocketing.
If you talk to Trump country folks (I’m deep in trump country too) they say shit like “well, once trump wins the trade wars, things are going to be great” and “once trump brings all the good jobs back” or “sometimes you gotta take your medicine for the good of the country”
Sooner or later, even the rubes will realize that the jobs aren’t coming back and the end of the trade war is not right around the corner. Basically, it’s just cognitive dissonance and not wanting to look dumb for voting for an idiot.
