Love can bloom on the battlefield but less so in a pandemic.
Wow a match that actually messages. In a style not too dissimilar with some of the shit we do here. That one may be actually promising.
Not so promising after all. We exchanged a dozens or more messages initially (including Ghana pallbearers) but she didn't pickup on the last message. I guess I could try talking cinema because she loves it but honestly... Not really in the mood for it. Pen palling without any IRL meeting in sight (we're still 2-3 weeks away from restrictions being eased) is not motivating to me. Or it has to really click, which is obviously not the case here.
In the grand GAFERA tradition, I'll now ignore all convergent advice and message my crush in LinkedIn.

Nah you're all right. Would be dumb.
I have to confess that 10 days later I did send a message, idle hands invite the devil and all that. Now in my defense, last time we met and discussed a bit I did suggest, if the lockdown was to last long I might drop in a message on LinkedIn for "professional news" and that didn't seem to bother her, quite the contrary. I kept it very simple, saying I kept getting work, hoping she was doing fine. She confirmed she went down south to stay in with her parents, thought I was really lucky to work while she was bored to tears, we wished each other well for the rest of the lockdown and left it at that. The employer we work at is currently planning on reopening (though they didn't officially told us so yet) so I could follow up but I'll wait to see if I get some planning there early May, I'd rather offer her a coffee. She did not suggest to take the discussion elsewhere so I'm lukewarm about a there being there.
