The Wii U was a worthless piece of shit, Iwata should've cancelled it like he originally intended to.
The only things that kept it afloat were the promise of Zelda and about a dozen really good games of which many are now ported to the Switch.
Even the VC was busted with the weird bug that darkened the screen that they never fixed.
Not even Reggie could sell it. He tried to sell the Batman Arkham port as a 'new' game because it had a map screen on the controller.
There was the weird APU that they downclocked before launch because it kept overheating. There was the slow ass Wii -> Wii U transfer process that took a day to complete with Pikmin carrying your saves from one system to another. In fact the entire UI was slow thanks to its slow RAM. Then there was the software decisions, which made absolutely no sense even if the games were good. Someone decided that Mario Kart 8 was going to be the graphical showcase yet it ran at 59fps for some reason causing a weird stutter (that they didn't fix until the Switch release). The 'Homers Car' collection of controllers and control set-ups so you could play original Wii games on it also made no sense at times. New Super Mario Bros. U couldn't be played multiplayer with just the GamePad (that was used to place 'blocks') instead, all players needed a Wii Remote or a Wii U Pro Controller.
Third party wise the highlights were Need for Speed: Most Wanted U, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Sonic Racing Transformed, Resident Evil: Revelations and Mass Effect 3(?).
