I hesitate to call Waltz with Bashir a war movie because I feel it's more of a story about memory and coping (with war and change), but that was the most recently released war movie that I felt was worth the time I'd spent watching it.

I should watch Cranes are Flying and Ballad of a Soldier again. I feel like I'd watch them with a different perspective than I had the last time I watched them. (A long ass time ago.)

Weekend at Bernie's- My first time seeing this. The premise is still awesome, but they never really do anything interesting with it. Kind of disappointed it wasn't more funny.

That's exactly what happened for me. :lol

We watched Olympus first because we thought it was going to be the weaker of the 2... should have looked at the directors of each film before we made that call.

Yeah, the movie was a huge disappointment, even at the time. I remember leaving the theater and thinking how much darker I'd actually expected it to go.

The Expendables 3 leaked to the internets

so i watched it

it's not terrible. better than the 2nd, which was god-awful. but not as good as the first IMO.

It does a far better job integrating the new blood in with the old guys. Everyone gets a moment for the most part. The big action ending is pretty good. enjoyable.

I disagree with you- it's worse than the second movie and the plot is beyond-awful, even for a film like this.  Stallone wants to ditch his old team BECAUSE and then he goes with Frasier to recruit new people...who we barely get to know.  I like the dude "who has a problem with authority," which is only once mentioned when Stallone is all like "YO KID, YUH GOTTA PROBLEM WIT AUTHORITY" and he's like "YEAH" and that's it.  And LOL at the cartoon-esque ending battle where non of the bad guys -an entire fucking ARMY- is able to even touch the group of like eight people.   :lol :lol :lol ::)

The movie was a turd.  The lack of Terry Crews and Jet Li sucked too.  I did genuinely laugh when Wesley Snipes said that he had been captured because of tax evasion.

Please, no more of these movies.  PLS

I don't get excited at all for Tarantino movies, but that's because I'm a cookie cutter motherfucker who doesn't get excited for anything unless it's part of a franchise I know I like (generally.)

They're good DVD flicks, though. I'd have probably been hyped as fuck for Kill Bill 2 if I had been able to see the first in theaters.

Tarantino movies are fantastic and he's only getting better with age.  Inglorious Bastards is arguably the best thing he's done and Django was good fun.  Looking forward to more period piece stuff from him.

Basterds was impeccable but I wouldn't go that far.  Reservoir Dogs I think is his best, followed by Basterds, then Jackie Brown, then Pulp Fiction.  The rest are good but jumble together for me.

Reservoir dogs is his worse. We've talked about this! But picking a bad Tarantino is silly because all his films are great.

I enjoyed this movie, it was fun. But I've never read the comic books so I can't special fellow out over any elements the filmmakers may or may not have changed.

yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy was great.  I think it's the first wholly good marvel movie.  never a dull moment.  also the most worthwhile post credit scene.

and for all the 20 and 30somethings hollywood is trying to make happen, Chris Pratt stands out as really likable and funny.  I'm OK with him becoming the white Michael B Jordan.

The sequel to the live-action Rurouni Kenshin opens in theaters this week or next here, so the original was on broadcast TV last night. I was ready to like it more than I did, but it was only pretty good. I'm a fan of Takeru Satou and Emi Takei, and between some non-cheesy adaptation of the anime's cheesiest scenes, and some dynamic sword fight sequences, I had a thoroughly good time.

The Ring + Creepypasta: The Movie. The atmosphere was overwhelming, it really cranked up the tension right from the beginning of the movie and never let up. It was dark too, no happy ending for these peeps. I think it would have been even scary if they hadn't gone for the supernatural angle, though. If it had just been a killer or group of killers stalking people across the country, that would have been more frightening that

It was pretty obvious early on that was where this thing was headed, so the ending wasn't much of a surprise, but I was a little surprised they went as dark as they did. A little too dark for my taste, I enjoy at least a little gallows humor with my horror movies, but this was a completely joyless affair.

So yeah, good atmosphere, meh script, maybe tell a joke or two, guys?

This movie was so rad. Mowgli is so dreamy!

But yeah, since this is based on the Disney version, it's going to likely suck. But Disney has been on a roll lately with their movies (non Pixar because those guys suck now) and I have faith in the goat. :heart

Why are they reviving the jungle book exactly? I know why - money - but why the JUNGLE BOOK? I was going to suggest 101 Dalmatians but then I remembered the godly live action version from back in the day. Goddamn I hope that's on blu. Lady and the Tramp is a far better title, is a better story, will offend less people, and won't have talking apes in it. Goddamn I love me some lady and the tramp. I need to get that on blu as well. I loved Robin Hood as a kid but in hindsight it really want that good. I'm surprised Disney isn't working on a full fledged Mickey Mouse movie by now. Mickey hasn't been in the limelight for a long ass time and they need to refresh their brand. Maybe I'm wrong on this but I have no idea how Disney keeps Mickey current. Is there still a Mickey Mouse club? The short before Frozen was :lawd worthy but aside from these shorts I saw online with Ren and Stimpy influence I haven't seen Disney peddle Mickey at all in years. Makes me wonder how kids even know who the hell he is beyond going to Disney World/Land and Kingdom Hearts.
