So I just found out there's a new Puppet Master movie coming...with a script by the guy who wrote Bone Tamahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99? Wat. Maybe it'll be good?

Watched Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

Always tickles me a little when franchises drop the numbering scheme to obscure the milking.

So this movie is much better than Mission Impossible 3. Its a good movie. It has more humour. More gadgetry. More exciting bits than the prior movie. The climbing the dubai hotel with magnetic gloves bit was genuinely thrilling. Tom Cruise is still Tom Cruise meaning he's just hero man, but he at least feels more like a character with a personality than the prior movie.

I  was very eager to initially mock the wife plot bit since it seemed like it was a reboot of the prior movie making it seem pointless but they even tie that bit in. The villain plot is both ridiculous and a complete step down of a character from Hoffman but whatever. The movie is clearly using it as a generic threat so they can focus the character bits on the "heroes".

It's just a more fun movie than what came right before it.

Watched Mission Impossible: Fallout

I felt it was 30 minutes too long, but the last 30 minutes were the best 30 minutes. It's not my favorite of my bunch, it's pretty good, but I think they need to do something different, how many times can we do this "Ethan gets betrayed, keeps fighting, the person betraying Ethan ends up coming around"stuff. They're still good rides, but how many different stunts can Tom Cruise pull? How much more can we see him running through a city? I still think Ghost Protocol was one of the best just because the Burg tower stuff was pretty iconic. Still not sure how they're going to top that. A fun time, but too formulaic by this point. They need to reboot or do something different.

Turned on Keep Watching the other day because I was bored and when it comes to horror movies bad scores don’t phase me. Really interesting concept executed very poorly. I should’ve known from TWD that Chandler Riggs can’t act, but it’s put on full display here. He is laughably bad in this. I’m mad that my thing for Bella Thorne drew me to waste an hour and a half I would’ve otherwise spent doing nothing. Worth the watch just to laugh at Chandler’s acting and watch Bella’s on screen boyfriend get axed in the butt.

Caught BlacKkKlansman yesterday and it was fantastic. Funny, biting, and socially relevanet. I particularly liked what it had to say about acknowledging ones heritage and standing up to opression. We all have skin in the game and a lot of us need to stand up now more than ever.

I thought it would get a wider release but man, Death of a Nation hitting more theaters than this is gross

It's a wonder they somewhat fixed the series after 2 with 3 - let it go now.

Saw Killer Klowns from Outer Space for the first time tonight. Was pretty fun. Had some neat special effects and felt like it had a way higher budget than a film like that would get. Also learned about The Dickies from it.

Two was pretty much not-fun, and Three was enjoyable. I'd enjoy seeing a different cop-show vibe to this new MIB movie.

Actually, I was kind of hoping for a MIB-reboot with RIPD, but that was some stillborn trashfire.

It's not great but will probably be better with age. Carpenter does something interesting where he turns vampire hunting from this cool, exciting and exotic adventure into grunt work. Laborious, often boring and totally thankless. It's a movie filled with assholes.

It's also pretty boring.

Remake might actually be the GOAT horror remake/reboot.
I love the remake. It’s not on shudder though unfortunately or else I would have watched it right after. I thought about renting it and saw an unrated version that I don’t think I’ve seen. Looks like it’s 5 minutes longer than the theatrical cut

Rush Hour 2 - I wish this aged better than it did :fbm The chemistry between Jackie and Tucker really wasn't as fleshed out as I remember. And taking away the jokes I saw coming, the rest is mostly Tucker being horny. Bloopers are still amazing though.

This is the apologetics whenever a YouTuber comes up. "They're decent people if you ignore their characters!"

Well if the character is why they got popular then no, I can't.
