Finally watched Spider-man: Far from Home and really: Fuck Himu and the MCU haters. I really enjoy this version of Spider-man. Plus the movie is worth it just for Nick Fury/Sam L. Jackson going "Bitch, please, You've been to space." E.D.I.T.H. being "Even Dead, I'm The Hero." (oh Tony) J. K. Simmon's returning as a Alex Jone's type of V-blogger for Jonah J.
I do feel Mysterio/Jake was wasted. I liked him until the twist into a villain, where he was still good but it feels wasted that he's not what he said he was. I feel him playing Holland's Spider-man's new Tony Stark would've been really good, and seeing the bloopers on the DVD it's clear Tom and Jake both enjoyed working together so it would've been cool to have seen them team up (especially with the rumored Spider-man/Venom cross-over).
I enjoyed the film, but at the same time, the "illusion" tech and actual attacks were a little... weird/disjointed, not as snappy as previous films.
That said: I do agree that the series/universe at this point is mostly forgettable.
But I still enjoy them as pop-corn filcks, which is what really matters to me: They're entertaining and I come out of them enjoying my time-spent with them. They may not be "art," but you know what? Sometimes I want a fast food burger over a five-course meal, and that's totally ok.
