Katamari Tribute/Forever demo is up on the JP Playstation store. Pretty fun, but nothing new.

the demo was fun, but what is up with the style? it's like Valkyria Chronicles or something with the brush strokes.

I'm nearly at 100% with 3D Picross.
DS GOTY?

yes

NDS best games list:

1) 3D Picross
2) Picross DS

Will I be the first here to get 100% (all gold medals)?

No, you'd have to have beaten me, and I finished that on May 3rd.

In the end I don't think I like Picross 3D as much as regular Picross.  The puzzles were just too easy, even at the high levels.  Everything was completely simple deductive reasoning, with very little reason or need to play a hunch.  I hope if they do another one they make it a bit more difficult.

I think a puzzle where you need to guess is a faulty one, I would be super frustrated if they did that on purpose.
But I agree that 3D is somehow easier.

I'm having more fun with FURY than I ever had with vanilla wipeout HD. there are a massive variety in race modes...and most of them are good. I really didn't stick with pure for some reason, so I never played much of pulse and have never seen any of these. it almost makes me want to give pulse another shot.

I was really hyped for HD before it came out (huge wipeout fan from the beginning), but for some reason it never clicked. it didn't get the play I expected, and I moved on to other games and kind of forgot about it. I seem to remember hitting a wall in the campaign and not wanting to take the time to get past it.

after like three hours of FURY, I went back to the HD campaign and destroyed the courses I was stuck on. I'd like to say the game finally clicked, but don't want to jinx myself.  :lol

PS3 killer app.

Lord of the Rings Online (playing it with my wife in a guardian/minstrel pair, having a good time )
Anno 1404 ( just about broken the game , it cries for mercy when faced with my magnificence )
Empire of the Sun ( via wargameroom.com )

More than anything this week I've been playing Silent War , a solitaire board game that simulates the entire unrestricted submarine warfare campaign conducted by the US against Japan in WW2. It's honestly one of the most evocative simulations I've played in an extremely long time-it is able to convey to the player all of the frustrations and ebb and flow of the war perfectly.  It's also stunningly addictive, especially when you set up spreadsheets to record the results of each and every sub patrol you send out.

It is long though-I've played my current campaign for about 35 hours and I am only in July of 1942.  :)

In addition to the regular style, there are a bunch of different visual shaders you'll be able to use in the final version of the game.

The final run through bosses in 15 and 16 wasn't all that difficult, probably not changed from NG. I over-prepared, too. I spam killed a lot of pirahna to build up all my supplies. Oh well.

What's next? Maybe God of War. <3

you can get 700~800 with just using a secrets faq near the end (and of course the secret missions during boss battles).

that's what i did though i kinda regret not getting a 1000 because it's one fuck awesome rpg.

This game was amazing.

Not too short (like 20 hours), not too long (like 100 hours) just of perfect length (49 hours with my major grinding). Sometimes easy (set story missions without Lucavi), sometimes hard (set Lucavi battles, VELIUS for example grrrrrr). I don't need to mention it had the BEST story in a Final Fantasy game ever leaving shameful, embarrasing crap like FF7, FF8, FFX etc. light years behind. Why wasn't there FFT2? Did this game bomb or what?

i heard that it did ok.

it was basically that Matsuno guy (who was doing FFXII then left) and some of his team that also made Tactics Ogre.

Without his involvement we got FFTA and FFTA2 so yea....

Bionic Commando Rearmed -- Never finished this last summer.

been playing this today as well.  Got up to the part where you have to swing across the spikes in area 12.  Fuuuuuuuuuuuuckjckckckc

I don't think I'll finish the game, considering I could be spending my time holding down the A button to kill things in Sacred, without having to apply any skill at all.

I played BC Rearmed last month until I got to the outside area on the final stage where you have to swing on those platforms that collapse. It pissed me off bad. The game is great though, so I'll go back and beat it someday.

Right now I'm jumping back and forth between Raiden Fighters Aces, Assassin's Creed, and a few XBLA games.

I was reading about that the other day.  It seems like the 360/PS3/PC Prince of Persia game where you have infinite respawns to the last solid ground you stepped on.  They also changed some parts of the swinging I think.

I thought FFT on PSP was a sloppy port. Despite the fact that there were no graphic upgrades or changes, the framerate stutters terribly. I think Jeanne Darc (another PSP SRPG) beats FFT in every category but story.

was Just labeled as an heretic and i'm now in that church trying to find one of those stones.

Are there any big differences between the PSX and PSP versions? I read that two new jobs have been added and two new characters (Balthier :lol), but the story and missions are all the same, right?

From my limited time with the PS1 version not that much. Story and Missions basically the same.

The really good one was the improved translation and that resulted in certain jobs and abilities to have different names (eg instead of Fire 1, 2, 3, 4 its called Fire, Fira, Firaga, Firaja).

Extra characters like Luso (from FFTA2), Balthier, Etc

Exclusive classes like Gamehunter, DeathKnight, Sky Pirate, Dark Knight and Onion Knight. Most of those classes are basically exclusive to the extra characters except Dark Knight and Onion Knight.

I am reading some FFT FAQs now and wow I didn't even know you could open the gate in the Galfargion battle when he is taking on you one-on-one while the rest of the party is behind the gates. As you may recall I beat him with main char + Earth Punches through the wall. Of course I also didn't know about Deep Dungeon, Cloud and 983240324 other secrets this game had.

I only did it after i killed him.

In that match i just stole his sword so he only could just punch me  :lol

I stole his Blood Sword in the battle before so i can leech some life when i attack enemies (as long their not undead)

I know I'm like 12 years late on this but....fucking christ!   The inverted castle is literally the WHOLE castle but upside down?!
I don't know why, but I expected it to be some small end game thing.  It's already giving me a headache just looking at it.  I think I'll come back to this later on lol

and looking at my map in Sacred 2 vs. the time I've spent playing is depressing.  i've put in a couple good 3-4 hour sessions (for about 20 hours total) and I haven't seen shit.  I think I'll just keep the game around forever and pick away at it for years. Either that or wait until Diablo 3 for the 360 gets announced...but blizzard is too rich to even give a shit about that.

I got up to the 'end' of SOTN on XBLA, got the shit ending, and realized I had to go scrounge up a bunch of arbitrary bullshit items if I wanted to actually keep playing the game. Total buzzkill, never touched it again.
