Why twice?

Beyond Good and Evil still is awesome years later.  Can't wait for the sequel.

for comparison sake, when I replayed Eternal Darkness, it didn't hold up to my originally so-so impression of the game.

Ok, Bore. It's decision time.

50 Cent or Red Faction Guerrilla? I can get 50 Cent for $28 or Guerrilla for $40.

50 Cent. Bottom line.

The cool thing about Persona 4 is that I still haven't finished it (started December 17, 2008), and right now I just don't even feel like finishing. Maybe I'll force myself to finish it soon, but probably not. I just need to get back into sitting down and playing games. After work it's just not something I want to do lately. BUT WORK IS OVER TOMORROW, BITCHES, MY LIFE IS A WEEKEND FOR A MONTH. Hopefully this will mean I'll finish Persona 4 (fucking finally) and start going down that backlog. Probably do some PS2 stuff since the new Samsung LED I want to buy doesn't have analog inputs (outside of 1 component), meaning no more PS2 shits until Sony adds PS3 emulation to my PS3 40 GB Dust Collector Edition. I also want to play Madworld and Klonoa, and start over with Twilight Princess. Realistically, none of those three games will be played, because I like drinking and sifting the internet and shit more than playing games anymore. What the fuck is wrong with me? Should I start smoking more weed?

edit Also, I want to replay FFVII, but since I don't have a PSP, that is completely unrealistic at best.

50 Cent was fun as hell co-op, but it seemed kinda short. Dunno about Red Faction yet.

they also offer for you to buy , individually or all together, the 5 star recruit status in 2010...  :(

Haven't noticed graphic issues on my 360 version, but they did add a feature as QB where if you are blitzed or a guy is closing in it slows down and your player's heartbeat rumbles.

Battlefield 1943- Enjoying it a lot. My only complaint is that I can't choose what map I want to play in off the bat.

Full Throttle- It's been almost a decade since I last played this and have forgotten all the puzzle soultions. Currently stuck on trying to repair my bike.

Zelda: Oracle of Ages- 6 dungeons down.

BlazBlue- Still trying to get a handle of this game but failing at it.

Mega Man Maverick Revenge- Decent, but slightly buggy, hack of Mega Man IV. Difficulty seems pretty balanced so far.

Lyte, what was wrong with the KOF game released on Live? I was gonna get KOF12 over BB, but it seems like most people who played both like BB better. Even the KOF fans. I liked the demo for XBLA game and Garou, so I'm thinking of getting them along with BB.

Thinking about replaying something. Can't get into an RPG at the moment, so it will likely be one of the following:

1) Ninja Gaiden
2) Ninja Gaiden Black
3) Ninja Gaiden 2
4) God of War

I'm up to the Lunarians chapter in After and keep getting creamed by 'Mysterious Girl'. Maybe I'll start that story over and ...something. Or try some of the goofy Challengingway stuff.

Went with Black. I actually haven't played this version before, my Xbox's abilities to play pre-rendered cinematics was on the fritz by the time this one was released.

Lyte, what was wrong with the KOF game released on Live?

Nothing, really.  It's actually better than the other SNK XBLA games and has a lot more options/modes of play available, but the net code, while IMO better than Garou's (thankfully), is still not as good as it should be.  This has a lot of KOF fans running scared over how XII is going to turn out now.  The game is missing the 3D backgrounds and arranged music, however this was to be expected.

This is what I am reading/hearing too, but I am taking it all with a grain of salt.  Most of the people condemning the game also don't regularly play KOF, but a lot of the complaints are over the custom combo system fucking up the game.  I've read counter-opinions to this that say the CCs are easy as fuck to get out of though.  There's no question that KOF XII was rushed and is the "beta" for KOF XIII, but I'm reserving judgement for myself.

'98 Ultimate Match, regardless of how the online play is, is one of the best fighting games ever made, period.  I'd get it for sure and skip Garou.

ZoE2 is still awesome, but I definitely blocked out some of the stupid parts from my memory.  Like, the section where you have to follow Ken's instructions and move slow to avoid mines is dumb, the QTE-ish boss fight is dumb and every boss fight against Viola is kinda annoying.  Plus, escort missions and protect building missions.  I'm getting close to getting zero shift and can't wait for that.  I just got to that huge battle area where the game starts to chug at 10 fps or something.  Other than the few sections where the frame rate nosedives, the game still looks insane.

The voice acting and story is also worse than I remember it.  It seems like no one wrote any periods in the script and people don't know when they should stop speaking, constantly making you think that they have something else to say, then the scene ends.

50 Cent >>>>>>>> Gears 2

Its basically the same game without all the filler poseur bullshit. The locales/gfx arent as detailed but you can blow away a baddie on Hard Difficulty with a couple of rounds to the dome as opposed to Gears where you need to unload 4 clips worth of ammo on the lowliest foot soldier to kill him. The points/bonuses are flying all over the place and the music is all "the guns come out bich nukka fuck fuck". Most fun 3d action game Ive played in 09. Chronovore, we have to rock this co-op pretty soon! I'll print out the collectible guide so we can grab them Gold medals on the levels  :-*

JUMP on the BlazBlue LE...it's the only version that was released, and it's the same price that the regular version (coming out in a few weeks) is going to cost.  No point in waiting.  The PS2 version of '98 Ultimate Match is better visually and has the superior arranged music, but the XBLA version is still worth it for $10.

I wonder what SNK is going to do with KOF 2002 Unlimited Match XBLA.  The game only has (mostly new) 3D backgrounds and (new) remixed music.  If they just throw in old 2002 Neo-Geo backgrounds and music, that's going to be  :-X :-X :-X.  We got a YEAR to find out.  LOL.

I picked up a shitload of N64 games, I have 19 as of right now. I avoided the ones on the Virtual Console since I'd rather play those in 480p. The office also has a ton of N64 games I could probably borrow so I'll have to look through that on Monday. I'm also waiting on demi to send me Quest 64 and Legend of the Mystical Ninja so I can destroy my mind playing N64.

Games I have so far:
Beetle Racing Adventure
Blast Corps
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Donkey Kong 64
Excitebike 64
Goldeneye 007
Hybrid Heaven
Jet Force Gemini
Mischief Makers
Mission Impossible
Perfect Dark
Pilotwings 64
Resident Evil 2
Rocket: Robot on Wheels
Space Station Silicon Valley
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
WinBack
Yoshi's Story

Anything I'm missing? What should I play?

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'm playing Donkey Kong 64. It's so fucking bad but the collect-a-thon is both a guilty pleasure and a constant source of rage.

Mostly it's with me keeping up and executing combos. It isn't as easy for me to read and anticipate moves in this game as opposed to Street Fighter. I'll give that link a look and see if it helps any.

Just started playing BOF: Dragon Quarter and I'm confused to say the least. I assume the emergency retreat feature is the same as te save system in Dead Rising so that you can start over and over with better stats and equipment (does this have any impact on the ending?).. Graphics look good on my plasma and the battle system is interesting though I'm only starting to get the hang of it. Seems entertaining enough to play through and as fars as I can remerber It's supposed to be very short for a Jrpg.

@borys: You can get both of them or rather all 3 of them on VC.

Almost done with original mode, put in about 32 hours, and have about 65,000 killed.  Not sure if I want to go for 100k but I found a few kill-grind levels I can take part in if I want to.  The last level of Heero resulted in about 2200 kills for instance.  If I can do that 15-20 times, I'll get it.

Afrika/Hakuna Matata is such an asshole.  I started and thought it was cool, and now they're making me take a picture of a yawning hippo.  So, I go and wait TEN REAL MINUTES for one to yawn, get the picture, and now they say the pictures aren't acceptable.

Can you shoot the hippo?

doubt it

I eventually was able to drive around the jeep myself, so naturally I tried to ram them, but they're so big and strong that even my suzuki jeep was scared off.  When I tried to drive into a monkey, the car stopped and this woman told me to leave the poor animals alone  :'(

the game is kinda fun; it's like a sim Pokemon Snap.  Like, if Pokemon Snap was Mario Kart, then Afrika would be Forza or Gran Turismo.  I'd imagine if I was more interested in cameras, this game would be more interesting.  You can manually set any settings on your camera and it has the same interface as most digital cameras do.  To take pictures, you can even half-hold R1 to lock focus before pressing to take the shot; you can even tilt the controller to take vertical shots.  But there isn't that much to take picture of, and only the animals look good.

Finally started on Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires.  I like being able to create my own character (it's very limited, but at least they added new outfits as free DLC) and give him/her any main characters' movesets, plus they show up as NPCs during the game.  The change from the renbu system to one more like the regular DW games also makes it more fun to play.  Just wish it had Japanese voices.  Those English voices are  :yuck.

Also played some BlazBlue.  Hit level 30 on PS3.  I've lost like 6 matches in ranked.  Set a new personal record beating down a level 60 player with (as always) Tager!  Levels don't really mean squat though; I played a dude who was level 28 and destroyed him.  He played like he was level 1 and this was the first time he'd ever played the game.  Match of the night: Taking down a really good Bang player.  FUCK are good Bangs ANNOYING; I was able to 360 him several times during the match, and that felt really good.  Bang is usually hard to get a lock on.
