It's kinda easy to forget new players are always signing up when you hang around Dalaran all day. I've noticed some new leveling guilds popping up recently, and raid guilds focused on ToC before ICC. Kinda makes me want to make an alt and experience the game from that perspective again. I'm trying to wait for Cata though. If the beta is anything to go by, leveling 80-85 will be a breeze, so I'll definitely want to have an alt. Maybe a caster this time, although I've always wanted a pally.

There was a prot warrior in trade on the brink of having a nervous breakdown due to not being able to hold threat. Him and many others seem to think Rend is the new opening move for tanks. Bad fucking idea.

I tanked UP and CoS with no major threat problems; really the only annoying thing was being out of rage a few times.

The thing that really pisses me the fuck off is the graphical changes. Everything is set to low, and I can't change most of the graphics options because my graphics card doesn't support something or another. Why can't I play the game with the same graphical quality I've had for awhile instead of being bumped down to low? I had detailed shadows just yesterday, why the hell can't I have them now.

lol I went to Gamestop to resub for WoW last night and the guy at the counter kept droning on and on about Old Republic sounding so amazing due to the voice acting. That's literally the only thing he was talking about outside of typical "it's STAR WARS" shit. DCUO NDA lifted, and more people are being admitted into beta...and the game is a steaming pile of shit.

The only thing different between SOE Austin's last game and DCUO is that SWG was actually a better game at launch than DCUO is. If I had to choose between FFXIV and DCUO, I'd pick FFXIV. It's completely console-ized so much so that the combat will cause you to destroy your mouse by click click click click click click click click.

Great bug: If your character name includes two words, you can't receive tells! The chat system only recognizes single word names.

So I turned on my 360 controller I have connected to my PC to see if it makes DCUO easier to play, and it does. But this happened:

It's just a straight PS3 port to the PC. They didn't even change the buttons. Even the keymap says "PS3".

Rift is having their third big beta event this week. The game is being done by Scott Hartsman who was the Senior Producer of EQ2 and left SOE with a TON of people to make this MMO. It's getting a ton of hype, so what does Smed do? He's trying to crash their beta by giving EQ2 players 100% EXP bonuses this week just so they won't go play the game.

I was around at a friends place over Xmas and they were playing it and I'd have to agree. It looked like an MMO Crackdown/Infamous which I found intriguing.

You can RP amongst people who are not. In fact, the way GW2's personal story is set up, you can RP it with other RPers or RP it alone all you want without coming into contact with anyone else.

I still don't understand why RPers need to kick everyone out to keep up their illusion. Even if you play on an RP WoW server, how are you going to RP Cata? Half the quests are full of internet memes. How do you RP killing ten rats over and over like it does any difference at all? At some point you are mindlessly gaining XP just like everyone else.

LOTRO had a good community without people trying to bring up chuck norris jokes every hour. It also features the ability to have a visual wardrobe separate from your stat based wardrobe. I think my guy has a pirate hat and a dark green flowing robe.
