Like her wanting a "light skinned boyfriend with good hair," then apparently falling in love with a light skinned nurse. Or how the teacher who makes her open up is light skinned, as is the social worker. I didn't think much about it after first seeing the trailer, then I heard about White's comments where he confirms it. All the negative characters in the film are dark, black people, while the positive characters are light skinned.
