Feeling like it’ll be difficult to find an impartial take on the game. I’ve no affinity for Harry Potter and that’s surely the main draw. Plenty of licensed games have merit outside the property. If it’s Bully with magic, I’m down for that.

End of an era. From 2006 to 2016 I remember taking the day off school, then work, to watch Nintendo's keynotes. Easily equivalent to Christmas to a Nintard like me.

Freshman year of high school I somehow convinced my mom to pick me up early despite being over my absence limit. What a cool mom. It was raining hard that day. Had been scribbling "5/9/06" in my notebooks for weeks.

Nostalgia blinds me, this will always be Nintendo's best keynote to me. My only question at the time is why the Brawl trailer with Snake was held back for journalists-only later that night.

I think 2006 was the first ever year it was streamed online too (I watched on GameSpot) and you didn't have to watch G4's spliced up coverage -- I think G4 didn't air keynotes in full until 2007, and we all remember what happened there....

I was so glad when the Directs killed the live press conferences. Those things were stupid and they are always embarrassing, especially when there are middle aged men trying to appear "cool" to teenagers or tech "journalists" who are nothing more than over-excited middle-aged fans dressed up as teenagers.

Theatrhythm Final Bar demo on Switch in portable mode is alright. The portable switch joycons aren't great for the game and even as a fan of the arcade machine and its trackball I think the 3DS version with touch controls is the most fun and engaging way to play the songs. I'd rate it 3DS touch -> Arcade trackball -> basic vanilla controls.

Supposedly the game plays way better on PS4 (maybe PS5?) because the controller. But this series and its hundreds of songs has always been a portable thing to play when traveling or killing time, so I don't think I could play this on a non-portable system.

Still, will try the PS4 demo to compare. Probably will grab the deluxe $100 version on Switch w/500 songs and just get used to the controls. Though when traveling and stuff still may prefer to bust out the 3DS version with the stylus over this one.

Also why the fuck does the Switch version have like a 5 second+ load time before each song? This game is very simple and the 3DS version didn't have load times like that. It's not a dealbreaker because it's not that long, but it's long enough to be annoying.

So yeah, FF Theaterhythm plays better on PS4/PS5 because having opposing analogs makes more sense for the dual analog commands and also hitting double buttons is way easier and intuitive.

But for me that doesn't outdo portability for a music game with 500+ tracks. So...still going with the Switch version. I'm starting to get used to the controls and it's not so bad.

Other than the obvious bias that people have towards Rowling of late and immediately hating because of that, not sure what they're expecting from a HP game. Not everything should be compared to a Souls game. Looks fine. Nothing special, but looks polished.

If people are gonna dog on how a game looks, they should rip on the leaks of DA Dreadwolf.

They claim it's alpha footage, but the gameplay looks bad.

Harry Butthole Pussy Potter is getting pretty good reviews. Sitting at an 86 MC. If my kids want it, I'll get it. Otherwise, I never cared for it personally. Wizards and magic were never my thing, but I can see it being everything HP fans ever wanted in an HP game.

But in all seriousness.... The name Hogwarts Legacy sounds like a story of some guy running around with a massive hog, slathered with STD's, and spreading it on anything that moves in an open world game.
