Saw a wild scene as I was changing trains at Yoyogi stn tonight.

The dude in the white shirt below was covered in blood. You can't really see it in the pic, but it was pouring from his nose. The dude in the checked shirt was just wailing on him, kicking and punching away. He actually pulled down his pants and literally kicked his ass at one point. From the 30 seconds of screamed conversation I overheard, it seemed like the white-shirted dude had been taking pics of the other guy's girlfriend. He used the word for 'peeping tom' so presumably upskirt shots or similar. I got on the train as the police were being called in.

In 20 yrs of living in Tokyo, this is maybe the 3rd public fight I've seen, but the only one in which I've seen blood. Kind of shocking but reassuring at the same time.

I've never seen a fight in Japan. I saw one guy haul of an punch his girlfriend in the chest. I reinforced the ugly foreigner/America World Police image by intervening, and calling the attention of the entire metro center to bear on him. But that's the only violence I've seen here.

So I was sick in the first round of interviews for the Inventory Supervisor job at Best Buy and missed out. Fortunately the manager who was conducting the interviews decided he didn't like any of the other 6 applicants who were interviewing for the job and put the position up for another go around. The application deadline ended yesterday so the interviews will probably be this week. Funnily enough, only two people put in applications for the job this time. Me and a guy who applied for it the original time and didn't get it.

I'm thinking my manager did this just so he could get me in on the interviews to give me the job. I'm pretty excited because it will be a huge pay increase as well as decent benefits (health, tuition assistance which I desperately need). So anyways, wish me luck and send me some good vibes! I'll keep you guys posted on how it turns out. Then I'll start hocking games and consoles out of the warehouse door after store hours (kidding).

man. my typing on this ergonomic keyboard at work is soo much better then the one i have at home. i did a typing test at home and i average around 40-60 but here at work i average around 80-90

I think most of those issues can handled with the right attitude. Getting a bit pudgy? Exercise more! No more booze! Change the diet! Guitar skills aren't up to snuff? Practice!

Well, we "lay off" 95% of the company after tax season, but those people go into it knowing it's a seasonal position. There's only 4 year round employees. Well 3 now... I'm the youngest with the least experience, so...

The company I work for gets new people all the time.  Almost every few weeks, there's trainees that come and sit out in the office with analysts who choose to be mentors.  Today for the last hour of work, one them gets up and announces that she is leaving early because she has been coughing up blood all day long.   

What the fuck?  Who the hell goes to work with a symptom like that?  And now we're all freaking out because it could have been tuberculosis.    :'(
